We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Angela McCrary and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Angela, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is; the mindset of becoming the change I wanted to see in my family and my community. There were so many times during my educational path, especially during my Doctoral journey; that I wanted to give up. It was that constant reminder that ” I am the example” that kept and continues to push me. I knew when my daughter entered high school that I wanted more for her than what I had provided. Life though her eyes was easy, I had been a business owner since 1996, without a college degree. I didn’t want her to think that her life would be as easy as mine, because in reality we all know that life can throw us all some really hard curve balls. I have always encouraged my children to live a life that is suited for them, but I also thought to myself, ” how can I stress education behind success if I was not the example of it?”. It was at that point I made a choice to become the change I wanted to see in my children and to also be an example to others that there is no time limit on personal growth.

What should our readers know about your business?
In November 2020 I opened the doors to NuVannah Health and Wellness Center PLLC, we are located in Farmington Hills Michigan. Our center provides an holistic approach to wellness, we have licensed professional therapist that provide behavior health services, Certified Articular Detoxification Specialist, Licensed Massage Therapists and other SPA related wellness Services services. Our center is unique in its kind as we are the only Holistic Wellness Center that recognizes the correlation between behavioral health and self care services.

Being in the Service industry since 1996, I knew the struggles that laid ahead, however with the knowledge I had acquired along the way; I knew that I would not let anything stand in the way of my success. There were many times I had been faced with adversity, I was discouraged, discredit because of my gender and disregarded because of my skin color, but because I was determined to become the change; I stayed the course. I am the true example of change, I was the “girl” graduated through summer school that told her parents she would never go back to school. I was the 19 year old unwed mother, I was the girl in the abusive relationship, I was the child that was told she was nothing and would never have nothing.

NOW….I have become all that I wanted to become for my life, I am my own change, I am the example that you have the final say over your life. You can break away and break new ground.. You just have to make the choice!
