We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Elisabeth Wygant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Elisabeth, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Excellent question! I think this really stems from a young age and then trickled into my adulthood which very quickly flooded into my life after experiencing burnout, a toxic work environment, and then becoming a mother of two little girls. I originally wanted to check all of the boxes of the “American Dream.” You know the one with the white picket fence, the six-figure salary, married, have children, become a doctor…you get the idea. So, I decided to pursue a degree as a Doctor of Pharmacy, get married at 19, become a pharmacy manager by 25, and a few months into that became pregnant with our first! I was definitely caught up in hustle culture and was riding on the struggle bus to very quickly fizzle out.

Once I had my second daughter that’s when things really changed for me. I had already gone through traumatic birth experiences with both of my girls and then I became ill with mastitis placing me in the hospital. As I’m sitting there alone in the hospital room, I realized I had placed myself last on the list, that I wasn’t serving in my purpose, and that other women had suffered to a lesser or greater extent than I had. That’s when I knew I had to pivot, thus the creation of my business, Elisabeth Wygant Wellness, began.

I see it as my responsibility to change the world for my daughters so that my experiences don’t become their own.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I abso-freaking-lutely LOVE what I do in my business! I have taken my purpose and turned it into my life’s work because it’s that important to me. I empower ambitious women to reclaim their libido, move in confidence, and optimize their energy levels by taking an in-depth approach to balancing their hormones through nutrition tailored specifically to women’s hormonal ebbs and flows. It’s a complete wellness trifecta of incorporating mind, body, and spirit to truly tap into who she is at her core. I work to embolden women to view their menstrual cycles and life transitions as a superpower!

I am incredibly excited about my six-month group program, Flourish, that encompasses everything mentioned above where women unearth their feminine superpower and unlock the empowered woman within! What I’ve witnessed with each of my clients is this beautiful rebirth of self. She is confident in her body and completely transformed in her authentic being. It’s such a gift to be a part of their journey.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The area that I live in is one of those places that is a hidden gem. We’re surrounded by freshwater lakes and rivers, gorgeous untouched forests, and a sky that’s crystal clear you can see the stars. If someone were visiting me for a week, we would take advantage of the natural beauty that envelops us. We would definitely take a trip down the river and pack a picnic to eat lunch alongside the riverbank. Afterwards we would take it easy and head over to my home to have a home cooked meal where I would whip up fresh fish, oven roasted veggies, and paired with a sauvignon blanc. Other activities we would do throughout the week would be a hiking trip through the forest, visit a local restaurant brewery, head to the beach, and probably do a lot of R&R!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh my gosh where do I even begin!? I have several so here we go: My husband, Mark Wygant Jr., for always being my biggest fan, my rock, and giving me unconditional love.
My parents for giving me a childhood that was full of love, imagination, and love
My business coaches: Rebecca Cafiero, Dr. Melissa Henault, and Kelly Roach for their mentorship, encouragement, and belief in me along the way
