We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Lauren Brim and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Lauren, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For me, it’s not a thought, it’s a drive. I have something to offer and I create that offering to meet a need I see in the world.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am incredibly proud of what we’ve built at Bodywork for Babies International. It is incredibly challenging for new parents to find practitioners trained to work with babies, and our directory is solving that problem. We are making it easy for parents and health care practitioners to find trained professionals who can quickly and safely solve problems relating to breastfeeding, development, breathing, swallowing, birth trauma, reflux, and so much more. We are educating parents and providers about the importance of bodywork for babies beginning at birth, and continuing throughout childhood and adolescence. Babies and children need bodywork just like adults!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d catch sunset at Erwin hotel or Venice Alehouse, and then I’d dance the night away at Townhouse!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to thank Dr. Barry Gillespie for teaching me how to work with babies, and giving me the knowledge and confidence to do the work I do today.
