We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Sharon Elefant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Sharon, how does your business help the community?
That’s the beauty of The Nonprofit Plug. We focus 100% on social impact – we help the community create ways they can help build themselves through mission driven business – a NONPROFIT! NPP’s primary focus is to help people start a nonprofit to further their personal mission to serve the community, locally and globally. That’s the beauty and fun RIGHT THERE! How can we do this in a sustainable way? As much as we all want to volunteer and donate our time and money, we also have to accept reality – we need an income to sustain our personal lives, to take care of ourselves and our own family so we can better serve our community. The NPP helps people turn their passion into a business with a cause. Cause-driven nonprofits generate a passion for engagement, a purpose for meaningful and sustainable work, and pride in themselves through their endeavors. The NPP serves the community through supporting mental health programs, re-entry, collaborative work spaces, animal advocacy, supporting at risk families, and so much more!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Nonprofit Plug is a business dedicated to empowering, uniting, and developing 501(c)3 nonprofits.
Do you want to start a nonprofit? That’s just what we do!
Do you already have a nonprofit and need some guidance? We also do that!
NPP forms and incorporates tax-exempt charitable nonprofits, identifies and prepares organizations to be grant ready, creates a culture of impactful donor cultivation, develops strategic plans, provides community engagement and collaboration to enhance private and governmental relationships, and provides board of director management services.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My fav places in the city – I LOVE the beaches so of course we’d visit the pier in Santa Monica, watch basketball in Venice and then head to downtown la to catch any of the roof tops for a great drink and view of the city! And, you can’t come to la without hiking Runyon Canyon. For some great people watching, hang out on melrose or in Hollywood! My FAV place to eat is at Tao. I could eat the yellow fish every day!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
YES!!! MY shoutout goes to the commUNITY! I especially want to thank The Connect and The Source LA. We’re a team of women who want to serve our community together. We just collaborated – The Plug, The Connect and the Source! ha! Thank you to Karma Rescue, Project Giving Kids, Bonita Butterfly Inc and so many other nonprofits and community leaders that put their trust in the Nonprofit Plug.
