We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to create something that everyone and anyone could wear. Before starting my business, I had a large clientele for hair and makeup services. I always had to provide my clients with eyelashes included in their makeup application service. Lashes were still the one thing that meshed my work together when I completed a look. So, I decided to start my eyelash brand, where I can express myself through lash styles for different occasions and different lifestyles. My brand is gothic/alternative, but anyone can wear our lashes. We have a style for every eye shape and preference. When I started my business, I didn’t expect the amount of love and support my followers, friends, and customers gave me. It has grown so much in these past two years, and it’s what keeps my shop going.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business, Widow Witch lashes, is a blessing in my life. I am currently a business management student and decided to start my business to apply what I learn in school, and it has helped me grow and take my shop seriously. I’ve always been passionate about marketing, business, beauty, and making people feel good. Widow Witch lashes gives me the creative freedom to showcase the world my ideas and concepts. Every single product I have is unique to me, and I think people see that. Some of my biggest challenges were self-doubt because I was put down a few times during my journey. However, with the support of my boyfriend, Daniel, and my closest friends, I overcame that. I think we should all pursue our passion regardless of what others think. I want people to know that no dream or desire is too big to attain. I want any person who feels that they can’t do something, that they see me as an example or inspiration to do what they love. If you fail, at least you tried. Create your own future and start creating YOUR OWN universe.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Whenever my best friend, or in this case, my sister visits LA, I always make sure I give her the most fun experience. We usually check out a new vegan restaurant. My sister has many food allergies, so we make sure we find something that is both amazing and gluten-free! Also, every time she visits, we go to Donatsu. Donatsu is a vegan donut shop located in Little Tokyo. They have the best donuts in town, and you would never guess they’re vegan. For a movie we like to go to Sugarmynt Gallery in Pasadena. They have showings every Saturday, with the exception of recent events with Covid-19. It is right next door to the Myers’ house. We both love horror films, and Sugarmynt Gallery never disappoints. It is a spooky home that has different events, and the owner is a total sweetheart. They also host small shops in their backyard, and Rad Coffee usually sets up in their driveway. It is a fantastic experience every time we go. Then, at night we typically go to a live music show or bar/lounge . We both love 80’s, Industrial, new wave, etc. For a fun night out, we usually do the Lash located in DTLA or Bar Sinister in Hollywood. These are a few of my favorite things to do when friends come visit LA.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My boyfriend, Daniel, is my biggest supporter when it comes to me and my business. If it weren’t for him, I would struggle with my shop. He always makes sure orders are sent out daily and collaborates with me by making custom steel coffins and roses for my customers. I still get nervous every time I launch a new product. He always reassures me it will be a success and to stop worrying so much. He helps me with all operations and even created an office for me to run my shop from home. My sister Gabriela is also one of my biggest supporters. She is always there for me when I need her or need to brainstorm ideas. My best friends are also always very supportive of me and help me with photo shoots when I’m launching new products.
