We had the good fortune of connecting with Eunice (cozytealeaf) and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eunice, how do you define success?
For most of my life, I pursued what society defines as success: getting good grades, getting into a top college, and getting a lucrative job. As I’ve been following this generic blueprint of success, I realized that even after achieving these milestones, I didn’t actually feel successful. There was always another goal post ahead of me. That led me to start content creation, which ironically doesn’t have a clear path of success.
Over time, I’ve come to define success as simply being able to feel content with the current place you’re at in life, while being happy that you are marching towards your aspirations. No matter how many wins you’ve had, there’s always going to be another goal to reach. If success is always tied to the next outcome, it’ll never be attainable. So for me, true success is finding satisfaction with your current trajectory and knowing that you’re working on something that aligns with your purpose.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Speaking to my content creation work, what sets me apart most is the world I’ve built around my personal brand. Over the years, I’ve curated my own cozy, green aesthetic that feels instantly recognizable to my audience. In our current digital age, there are so many categories and labels to aesthetics—coquette, clean girl, cottagecore, and so on. Oftentimes, I would get a question asking, “What is your aesthetic called?” And my answer is that I can’t quite name it, because it’s something I’ve built for myself. It reflects my own taste, routines, and the things that genuinely bring me comfort and joy, and I think that authenticity is what resonates most with my community.
A huge part of that brand is also my home. My apartment has become more than just a backdrop for my content—it’s a reflection of my growth, independence, and creativity. It has gone through many phases and upgrades over the years, and I’m proud that each stage tells a part of my story. Ever since starting my first full-time job and becoming financially independent, I’ve worked really hard to build a life for myself. From studying hard in school, to building my career, to finally being able to live alone, every step has shaped both me and my work.
My journey on building my personal brand was not easy. It took years of experimenting, refining my style, and learning to trust my own eye for things.
I want the world to feel inspired by my story and recognize that your dream life is not something you have to be born into—it’s something you can gradually build for yourself through lots of hard work, patience, and self-expression. If my content can make someone feel a little more comforted and hopeful about creating a life they love, then I feel like I’ve fulfilled my purpose!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend would definitely have the most memorable time in San Francisco! As a city with a lot of charm and cozyness, there’s an endless amount of things to do and places to see.
As a certified matcha girlie, I’d definitely start with SF’s matcha scene and take them to a trendy matcha cafe to try their seasonal matcha drinks. We’d also spend a day exploring the iconic Golden Gate Park, which is one of my favorite cozy places in the city. We would visit the Japanese Tea Garden, Conservatory of Flowers, De Young Museum, and just take a relaxing stroll around hiden gem spots around the park. And perhaps we could take my cats Jelly and Mochi along with us! And of course, I can’t forget to take them to Japantown to trinket shop and take cute photobooth pictures, which are must-do’s for every hangout!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my loved ones and close friends who have been there for me even before I started creating content. They’ve always encouraged me to push the bounds of my creativity and experiment with styles I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Whether I was going through challenges, plateaus, or moments of growth, they were always there cheering for me. Their support is a big part of what’s kept me motivated to pursue content creation. I honestly don’t think I would be where I am today without them.
