We had the good fortune of connecting with Evgeniia Tikhonova and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Evgeniia, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Acting, dancing, movies, chocolate, and nature. Acting is something I have been dreaming about since I was a child. I remember myself performing in front of my family – dancing, singing, making my own theatrical performances. I truly enjoyed reading poetry and recoding myself, performing all characters at once by changing my voice. It makes me happy because my art entertains people, makes them laugh and smile. Regardless of how significant the impact is, if I can make one person’s day better it would be a win for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I moved to Los Angeles 10 years ago to pursue my dream of becoming an actress one day. I took my first acting class one year ago, 6 months later I got my first role in the movie. I am currently taking classes in AAFTA (American Arts Film & Television Academy), working on my own short film and participating in a play! Lesson #1 – Do what you really love NOW! Life is too short and time flies so fast. It took me 9 years to finally allow myself to go into acting. I was so scared before I took my first acting class last year but I am incredibly happy that I did. There’s nothing behind your fear, only growth and new amazing life. It’s really fascinating to discover new things about yourself, understand that you can do anything you want. We live only once. Take risks, be challenged, and enjoy your life to the fullest.
Lesson #2 – Always keep going no matter what. Nothing should stop you from pursuing your dream. There will be obstacles on your way, people who will say that you are not enough, that you are not talented etc. So what? Not everyone has to love you. Consider all criticism as a learning process and do not blame yourself. Be a friend to yourself and always keep going.
Lesson #3 – Do not forget to celebrate every little success on your way. Every little step is a big step.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely PCH Road Trip to San Francisco. If you let’s say have only one week in Los Anlages, I would recommend taking this trip instead of doing all activities and sights in the city, that’s how I love it. There are a lot beautiful places to visit on the way: – Santa Barbara (Rosewood Miramar Beach Hotel, San Ysidro Ranch)
– San Louis Obispo (San Simeon)
– Big Sur (hiking, camping, breathtaking views)
– Carmel-by-the-Sea (Point Lobos State Natural Reserve) is absolutely my favorite
– Historical 17-Mile Drive (Lone Cypress)
– Yosemite National Park on the way back to LA
If you decide to stay in LA, among the most popular places like Griffith Observatory and Walk of Fame, I would recommend to drive south and visit Palos Verdes (Terranea Resort), Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and San Clemente.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my incredible mom, my sister and my closest friends Tanya and Alexey. Having such a great team by my side I know I can achieve anything I want. My mom and my sister insisted that I go into acting school one year ago. They made my acting career happen and I am infinitely grateful for that! I feel special, needed and loved because of them and it helps me to move forward step by step and not to give up on my true desires, dreams, and passions.
