We had the good fortune of connecting with Faith Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Faith, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
With starting my own business, it was rooted from thinking less of myself and more about my family. How I could take care of them without depending on my 9-5, but still trying to use my creative talents and following into my Grandfathers artistics skills, but in my own way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I began interning in 2018 at a multicultural marketing agency called, Team Epiphany. I had a good team behind me, and I was always a Brand Ambassador, to continuously make some money, and I always wanted to learn more on production. In 2019, I was hired Full Time, and I was a sponge, learning from everyone above me, even from different departments on best ways to produce, and learning how marketing worked. Right now, I only freelance with them while I went back to school, and began working on my business to fund my creativity. I’ve learned that everything takes time, it’s important to be patient, and it’s really important to DO THE WORK, you have to continuously read, and learn, and be willing to make mistakes, because that’s how you learn.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Every where in NYC is a good place to go to when you visit NY. There’s so many places to eat, to see, and to be apart of, but I try to sway people away from Times Square. TS, is just too much sensory energy for me, it’s a lot of everything going on, I think the real parts of NY are the native neighborhoods, in Harlem, BedStuy, Queens. I LOVE Queens, this is where my partners family is from, and he’s made me fall in love with Queens, because I feel like it’s still a melting pot and it’s not gentrified yet, there’s SO MUCH different food to eat, and different cultures to learn from.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m huge on family, close friends, and meditation. The person I would dedicate everything to is my Mother, because without her being a strong example in my life, I would have gone down the wrong path. She worked so hard to always keep me busy when I was younger, which is Dance. I grew up dancing competitively, training everyday, every weekend, traveling. I worked hard to gain scholarships to help my Mother, to essentially help her with the finances of all of my dancing. All of the training, and hardwork, I put into my everyday life. I used to meditate before I went on stage, i’d study the music, to bring me to a different place and just breathe. I stopped practicing in my early 20s when I graduated high school, but revisited during the Pandemic, because it helped me find myself. Family and tranquility mean everything to me, because i’m rooted in my ancestry, on a mission that they couldn’t achieve, especially in the era i’m in now.
