We had the good fortune of connecting with Florence Mae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Florence Mae, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risks are honestly opportunities in life. Without taking risks in life, we would not be where we are. After college, I took the risk to move out to Los Angeles with a marketing job and not enough money in my savings account. I’ve definitely learned a lot being out on my own without my family helping me. The struggle to get by in Los Angeles has taught me to be creative, to hustle, & to have patience.

What should our readers know about your business?
I actually a lot of different things such as being a personal trainer, an actress and a business woman. I am constantly helping someone transform their bodies, transform their mind to create better habits & also expanding my business. Asides being a personal trainer, I am a digital entrepreneur. I teach people how to become financially free, financial literacy and time freedom. This all happened during the pandemic. I realized that working for someone else is not enough to get me to my goals. So i joined an academy to help me get there. In this process, I have also created my own product. The prototype is being made as we speak and I can not wait to see the final product. I would say right now is a breeze because it’s before the hurricane. So the only thing I am setting up is getting my marketing game on point. While they work on my product, I’m working on building my audience through social media. It definitely is a challenge trying to grow my personal account and my business account organically without having to buy followers. What I’ve learned so far throughout the business I have is that I should not be afraid to talk to people, build rapport. Learn people’s desires and vision because working with a team will definitely get your further. Also seeing eye to eye with your business partners. Everyone has their own way of teaching things or grasping things so I had to learn how to compromise. It’s not just what I want anymore. It’s together as a team.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city: Venice, Santa Monica, Vista Hermosa, Malibu & all the hikes. I would take my friends hiking every single day from Griffith to Hollywood sign, to Runyon canyon. After hiking, we would grab something healthy to eat after whether it be juice or açaí bowl from nature well or ubatuba. After I would take them to Santa Monica to see the pier and then bike/scooter over to Venice to see the different shops and vibe out. Have a few drinks and some food at the restaurant on the little board walk. Walk around see the skate park, basketball courts and just enjoy the scenery, might watch street performers also. After all that, stop by the Venice canals and just enjoy the breathtaking canal as we walk down. For dinner, head back to downtown and dine in at Perch to see the view of downtown. There’s so much to see in the city. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout-out to my siblings who have been there always encouraging me to be better, letting me know I’m not alone out here and they’re there for me. Also my close friends and business partners who have taught me to be patient with myself, to slow down. Just because I live in a city that’s on a constant move, does not mean I also have to be. Take time for myself. I have been reading spiritual books so shoutout to Dr. Joe Dispenza, Deepak Chopra because their books have taught me so much about how important it is to unlock the divine goddess within me.
