We had the good fortune of connecting with George Sayah and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi George, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Enjoying the work I do. Whether I am making a movie, or an informational corporate video, I enjoy the process of creating videos and hope it helps the people around me enjoy the process as well.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Filmmaking has allowed me to work with many different people and companies. I love the fact you never know what you will be able to work on next. I am proud to be able to do this for a living and am excited to see what’s in store next.
I have been a full-time freelance filmmaker for over 3 years now. It has been a great journey from starting off having no idea what I was doing, to today when I still don’t know what I am doing, but now with a bit more confidence. I love the pursuit of becoming a better filmmaker and hope that desire to learn and grow never goes away.
I always begin the process of making a video from the point of view of the audience. I try to imagine what would catch my eye or keep me interested in the story. When creating a film there is a lot to think about and I believe the end goal of creating an engaging or thought provoking video can get overlooked.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A hike, the beach, a restaurant, a bar, repeat.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family’s support in my education and career gave me the opportunity to pursue filmmaking and I wouldn’t be here without their help.
