We had the good fortune of connecting with Gina Boersma and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gina, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind GBE’s success is highly attributed to our courteous hospitality and attention to logistical details. Our service comes from the heart, we pride ourselves on providing a personalized coordination service to our clients, keeping their best interest in mind. From pre-event planning, to the day of – our clients are in the best hands with our team and network of highly professional vendors.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Before GBE came to realization, I left an Event Director position at a local country club. We hosted tons of events, but the hours were grueling. I had to get out, so I ventured on a path I had never explored in the medical world. I took a drastic pay cut and took side-jobs for event planning to supplement my income. For about a year or so, it was a growing business and had to build every contract, scope of work, and template from scratch. It was a lot of work. It took about a year and a half for me to realize – WOW, this is what I love doing. I then started to process business paperwork and Gina Bee Events was born. We’ve had so much fun along the way, and have learned so so much. We cherish our clients continue to strive for excellence and look forward to learning something new at every event.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, I’d start by taking her to Paso Robles. We would stay at a cute local home for two nights. Day 1 – we’d go to Dilecta Vineyards and sip their incredible wines, head to have some lunch, then off to DAOU for the latest reservation so we could watch the sun set on the beautiful grounds.
We’d then head to the coast to enjoy Carmel, a quaint town, and stay at a hot springs resort to soak up some R&R (my friends are always on the go). We’d stay a few days then head down the coast to Santa Barbara, where we’d stay a few days soaking up sun on the beach, bike riding, and doing a little “treat yo self” shopping.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank you to Jenifer Bothwell for encouraging me to start GBE 3 years ago. You pushed me out of my comfort zone and I owe so much of this good in this business to you!
And to my number one, Keren Redondo, the assistant behind all of the day-of magic! Thank you for being the best right hand I could ever ask for! I owe a great deal of the success of this business to you.
