We had the good fortune of connecting with Glenn Bolton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Glenn, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
7 Habits of Highly Effective People for sure. It breaks down the elements of building and maintaining relationships and that’s something that’s been an obstacle as a one man show. It’s helped me open up more and communicate better which is huge in both personal and business interactions.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is centered in bringing levity while also making you bob your head. The thing that sets me apart is my ability to combine a detail oriented approach to the musical side as well as the comedic timing in my lyrics. It wasn’t an easy road. It still isn’t. I just know where I’m headed and I’ll do what it takes to get there. Challenges to me are exciting to me because I know they’re an opportunity for growth and discovery. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that I have to love what I’m doing first before anyone else will. I just want the world to know that my story is that of someone who’s learned to embrace imperfections and battle against self doubt. If I can do it, so can you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop is Cindy’s diner in Eagle Rock for some shrimp and grits. Then it’s off to Sweet Flower to grab some treats and go explore Old Town Pasadena. The next day, we’ll head to Third Wheel Hollywood for some comedy and close the night with karaoke at The Oaks Hollywood. At some point, we’ll go hike the Beaudry circle and catch some views. A trip to LA isn’t complete without going to the Petersen Auto Museum then hitting the Sunset Strip for some live music and comedy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Timmy Skelly. His voice, stage presence and overall vibe creates a one of a kind live experience. Also, his band is equally amazing.
