Meet Hakoda David | Couture Fashion & Jewelry Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hakoda David and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hakoda, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m am born in Los Angeles raised in Watts, California. My up bringing was very dynamic. My mom was a hard working mom, she was a licensed Bartender & put her self through school to become a licensed chef while raising my older brother & I, & after some time she raised my 2 younger stepbrothers with my stepdad. My stepdad who is recognized as my dad & who raised me & my siblings, was a salesman & dealer of sorts. Though, their career choices may not have been ideal by most, it was our staple & maintained our financial stabilities throughout my upbringing. I learned from a young age that having book smarts or having street smarts were useless, unless you knew how to combined & use them both. Hard work isn’t enough, I must learn to work smart.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I Thank God for my many Talents & Gifts. As a Couture Fashion & Jewelry Designer, I pride myself & brand on being a Visionary of my Craft. Creating Timeless, Handmade, & Hand-Sewn Masterpieces with Exquisite Details & Materials. Bringing a Sophisticated form of Seduction & Appeal for the ages of both Men & Women. I love to create Jewelry for Specific Pieces & offer Complete Styling Services to every Client as a form of “Fashion Therapy”; The Experience & Appreciation I give to each Individual Client; Catering to their unique fashion wants & needs offers a since of Ease & Builds Confidence between me & each Client. “Quality over Quantity” is my way. I love to Cultivate & Encourage my clients through Fashion & I become their Cheerleader. I use my Fashion Gifts & Talents to Aspire, Build Confidence & Offer Lifestyle Cultivation while supplying THE BEST Fashion, Jewelry, & Styling Services to each client in Los Angeles & the World.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Due to LA being so diverse in Culture, Food, Fashion, & Entertainment. I like to use LA as my own Mini World Tour. For Example with Dining. We could have French Bistro for breakfast at Mimi’s Cafe, Mexican Cuisine for Lunch at El-Torito & Japanese Cuisine for Dinner at Nobu. For Fun L.A. is the access point to many fun areas. A day at the Beach at Santa Monica Pier, A nice picnic at Griffith Park, amazing Culture & Exhibits at the Getty is only a few minutes away.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank 3 individuals for helping & supporting throughout my journey.
My mom Charlotte, she has had my back through my toughest days & darkest nights. She has supported me & my brand both physically & financially. Through The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly. I can depend on my mom.
Kali Mysteek, Celebrity Stylist, & owner of Kali_Mysteek_Showroom in Los Angeles. Kali took me in from being homeless at my lowest & scariest point of my life. He trusted me & believed in my vision of building our brands. Kali allowed me to live with him & work on my Designs in his home. We built an alliance & have been on a mission to create truly amazing fashion & fashion experiences for everyone we work with.
Alexandria Valentine Fashion Designer of Syck_Chameleon in Los Angeles. Alex has been a dear family friend since grade school. Alex became my mentor, coach, & sewing instructor teaching me to hand sewn & other sewing techniques when I began my journey as a Couture Designer. Her lessons were very intense, yet valuable to me & set me on the path that I am on today as a Couture Designer & eventually becoming one of my biggest paying clients & supporters which I am eternally grateful & appreciative.
