We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Strumner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
I feel that the industry outsiders are most unaware about is the amount of time it can take to get our music out there. I was unaware about this as well, and thought one would just put up a song and then it would go viral! That is because it was my perspective whenever I heard of a new artist, I didn’t know of them before their music was known, and I did not see all of the progress, rejection, or hard work that was put into it. I feel that is not just in the music industry but also in acting, being an author, or even a doctor! It does not happen overnight.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started doing music after I dealt with a lot of health issues in my childhood. When I was seventeen, I was sent to the hospital and diagnosed as a Type One Diabetic. That is when I knew I wanted to do something really special with my life. I got a call from a known artist and producer in Nashville who wanted me to record some of my music at his studio. Sadly, COVID-19 had hit and I was unable to fly there, so I recorded vocals at The Tonic Room Recording and Mastering Studios and we sent them over to Nashville. My now producer, Jason Ringelstetter, suggested I find some musicians and record a song at his studio, and I did, along with a full album. Now I am back in the studio after my release of my self-titled debut album which came out in July. I am so grateful for my producer as we are able to turn a song that I wrote on my bedroom floor to a song with a bunch of instruments and vocals recorded. We are working on something really cool, and I cannot wait for everyone to hear!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I was with my best friend was visiting the area, I would probably want to go see a movie and then get our nails done! Then, maybe we could go out to dinner and even take a small road trip, driving around the city! The city is fun to look at during the night or we could even drive out to the country as well. It would be a great day!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Jason Ringelstetter, Chris Parks, and all involved at the Tonic Room Recording and Mastering Studios. Also, a shoutout to my parents for always believing in me, and my mom for coming to every recording studio session with me.
