We had the good fortune of connecting with Harmon Rozycki and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Harmon, what is the most important factor behind your success?
In my mind, the most important factor driving Boba POPS is our focus on creating something that sparks meaningful interactions. From the onset, our mission has been to offer something unique and exciting enough to start conversations and, subsequently, friendships. Whether it be a conversation at a bar that starts over the fun new cocktail ingredient in your glass or a friendship strengthened by a fun and unique gift, our main goal at Boba POPS – and the key to everything that we’ve focused on so far – is to inspire social interaction through poppin’ new beverages.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Boba POPS are alcoholic popping boba made here in the USA. We strive to offer the most unique and great-tasting beverage ingredient out there, day in and day out. The biggest challenges we’ve faced so far have been supply chain issues: the brand was previously produced overseas, which meant that our ability to share what we see as a fun and exciting ingredient with a more widespread audience was pretty limited by external production and shipping times. We shifted production to the US in 2023 in an effort to make these Pearls Of Popping Spirits more accessible, and now that we’re fully operational, we are so excited to be in a position to continue innovating with new flavors, retail partners, and cocktail ideas “popping” up every day. I’ve been blessed to have the ability to learn so much about our brand, partners, and customers over the past year, and I’m really looking forward to using everything I’ve learned to provide the best product possible that will contribute to some fun memories between friends.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would love to visit the diverse array of art museums in the city, especially the Museum of Jurassic Technology. I think a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park would be in the mix, as well as a road trip along the Pacific Coast Highway up to Malibu. One of my main personal goals recently has been to soak in nature and art and appreciate being fully immersed in them any time I have the opportunity, so these would be some perfect opportunities to achieve that. Shameless plug: I’d have to stop by Lavo to grab a Lavo-Lini, and in general would definitely be grabbing some bubble tea any time that’s an option. Another target food destination would be Santa Monica for their farmer’s market – nothing beats fresh, local produce.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to give a shoutout to all of the mentors who have given me so much to learn throughout my life. From specific topics like statistics and grammar to general skills like outside-the-box thinking to the overall confidence to go out and be ourselves, these people have been the key to everything I’ve been able to accomplish, and have inspired me to continue trying to be a lifelong learner every step of the way. Cheers and thank you to all of the teachers, advisors, and everyone that I’ve been lucky enough to learn from so far.
