We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Kipp and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
As early as I can remember, I knew I always wanted to pursue the performing arts. I cannot imagine my life without being able to create as much art as humanly possible; it’s always been a passion of mine. For me, it was never a question of “Should I pursue my art?” but “How?” and “When?”

I also really love being able to have a positive impact on others through my work. I feel like I am able to express the multiple facets of myself through many different types of creative work. I’m hoping that the people who are watching what I’m creating enjoy it, relate to it and/or are inspired by it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One thing that sets my work apart from others is the variety in what I do! I’m an actress, voice over artist, award-winning cosplayer, content creator….the list can go on! I wear many different artistic hats.

Something else that sets my work apart from others is my passion for what I do, as well as my unique life experiences and perspective. Some of my award-winning cosplay work has been done as a duo with the very talented Veronica Kipp. What sets me apart as an artist meshes really well with Veronica’s unique skill set and perspective. We have gone on to create many excellent creations together because of this!

Some of the things I’m very proud of are the amazing opportunities that I’ve had throughout this past year. I’m so fortunate to say that I did some remote work with a few great companies. With everything going on in the world right now, I’m incredibly grateful that I am able to keep creating.

I will also be voice acting in an upcoming animatic pilot called “Starstruck” with some majorly talented people. I also did some voice over work on an animatic for a well-known TikToker. I have some other exciting stuff in the works and while I can’t talk about it quite yet, I’m really looking forward to sharing it with you all in the future!

I’ve also had some success on the TikTok app! Since starting my TikTok, I currently have a following of 175K and counting. It’s absolutely unreal that so many people are enjoying what I’m creating. This opened up the door to the world of social media influencing, something I’ve always been interested in! My journey is always evolving and I am open to all of the amazing possibilities!

Although I truly love everything that I do, I will say that the journey has not been easy. To be honest, I’m always learning new ways to overcome challenges because no one challenge is ever exactly the same. Having a great support system, as well as trusting myself, my choices and the universe have all helped me during the difficult times. The above sentence also doubles as important life lessons I’ve learned along the way too.

What I’d like the world to know about me is that I’m a hardworking, passionate human who lives and breathes my performance art. The opportunity to show my truth through my art is absolutely liberating to me. I hope that others who see my truth through my art are inspired to live their truth as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
From antique bookstores to museums to parks, there really is something for everybody to enjoy in LA!

If you’re visiting downtown, one of my favorite places to visit is Little Tokyo. There’s a bunch of amazing food, cute shops and sometimes they have art galleries and/or live performances!

If you’re planning on venturing out of downtown, I definitely recommend visiting the beach! Watch the sunset on or around the Santa Monica Pier if you haven’t yet. Trust me, it’s beyond gorgeous.

I love so many different types of food, so exploring the variety of restaurants in LA is always a fun adventure! I always enjoy visiting coffee shops and appreciating not only the food/drinks but the vibe. I also really like vegan food, so I always recommend checking out the many vegan options in the area. I’ve noticed a lot of those coffee shops and restaurants are small-businesses, so eating there is a great way to support some fellow LA locals! Whether it’s seafood, fast food or a cuisine you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t yet, there’s a plethora of delicious options to choose from!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh, goodness…there are so many wonderful people and experiences in my life that have been a part of my story and sadly, it’s impossible to name them all!

As you would expect, my friends and family deserve a special shoutout! An artist’s journey has frequent ups and downs, so having support from those close to you is incredibly important!

Next, I owe a lot of thanks to my lovely partner Veronica Kipp. We love to collaborate together on whatever our artistic endeavors may be and we’re thrilled to see each other succeed! She’s incredibly talented and I love being able to feel like I can shoot for the moon when creating art with her.

My friends and colleagues I have made through the acting, animation, voice over industry; etc. inspire me everyday. They are incredibly kind and creative people, who always remind me to persevere towards any and all of my goals. Sam, Q, Daron and Adam are just a few of the many wonderful artists that I not only look up to but am fortunate enough to call my friends.

I’d also love to shout out Gary and Aisha! They’re two talented artists and friends who both recently let me lend my voice to their animated projects.

Sending tons of love to Andrew and Christine too! They’re wonderful friends who support both my art and me as a person. Very grateful for them!

Finally, all of the people who follow me on social media deserve a huge shoutout! As a creative, I wouldn’t be where I am without the wonderful people who support my work. Thank you all so much…this shoutout is for YOU!!!
