We had the good fortune of connecting with Judith Beylerian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Judith, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
As long as I can remember everything around me resonated with creativity. All the members of my family floated into the rhythm of making Life as Art or making Art as Life. Everything inspired me growing up, being surrounded in my immediate family by a sculptor, painter, graphic artist, couture and fashion designer, dancer and the world of music! I dipped my toes in various mediums, Learning from every experience and kept a little piece of each to become who I am today… a Fashion Artist. I could not imagine living any other and have committed my life to living this dream.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My passion for craftsmanship was given to me by the artists in my family. The attention to detail and the incessant love of making someone feel special through my art… This combination makes me the artist that I am today. I construct my One+Of+A+Kind pieces of fashion, jewlery and accessories as a work of art, like a sculptor.

Creating with my hands is the way I found my flow, connecting and empowering me in this act of faith and profound happiness.

I learned early that this path is not the easiest one but the most in-tune with my body and soul. Finding over the years my own spiritual practice to balance it all. A search, practice and profound interest of every day to keep me centered and in peace with myself and the world around me.

One of my early creations was for the beautiful Julia Robert’s. I loved the process of collaborating with her vision and using my passion as a designer, painter and sculptor to bring her wedding dress to life. I am proud of this achievement that occurred early in my career. I practice to keep my feet on the ground and listen to my own heart to stay curious and adventurous thru each phase of my life and career.

The treasure is the source of my inspiration, be it a ribbon, a crystal, a vintage watch strap, an antique button, a piece of lace, leather or a feather. I can see the potential for a new element of style that can be created, sometimes by repurposing materials. Creating for my clients, I invite them to bring their treasures to me for the commission of an original piece of Wearable art. I adore the challenge, to immerse myself in this journey of abstraction and spontaneity, to be daring along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well ! Los Angeles offers so many different options.

I would have them do a tour of all my favorite Thrift stores and flea markets, which is one of my favorite things to do with my daughter Lunabelle.

I absolutely love to walk the Art district in downtown LA, such a unique atmosphere!

The beach, jumping in the ocean has always been one of my favorites …a must and a privilege living in this city!

A hike in the Hollywood hills or even a fantastic camping trip in our LUNABUS…There is nothing better than to connect with nature. I am a big fan to refuel my energy and focus in this way. Angeles Crest for the mountain, El Capitan for the beach proximity or let’s think big, we could go to Yosemite or the Grand Canyon.

Lets not forget the food in LA which is amazing and authentic, I think almost every culture in the world is represented here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of my first mentors was my grandfather Marcel Bodart, a sculptor whose way of living and dedication to his medium with an immense and pure talent. He showed me how artful life can be! My mother taught me to seek, transform and adorn anything I could touch. My husband and daughter make my life a journey of Love and inspire me to be the best version of myself.
