Meet Hunter Hudson | Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hunter Hudson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hunter, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I’ve always felt like my life has been one big risk. I’m drawn to the unknown, to opening doors without knowing what’s on the other side.
Comfort has never excited me. Complacency feels like the enemy.
I grow most when I put myself in situations that challenge me, force me to be vulnerable, and push me beyond what I thought my limits were.
Acting has become my outlet for that vulnerability. It allows me to make bold choices I might never make in my everyday life. There’s freedom in knowing I can go all in and that a director can always pull me back if needed. That safety net gives me the courage to leap further.
For me, the risk is the reward. It’s what makes life electric.
Moving to Los Angeles alone with no money, a maxed-out credit card, just enough in my bank account to cover my first month’s rent, and no job lined up — that was one of the biggest leaps I’ve taken. I slept on the floor of an empty apartment with blank walls and no furniture. But I made it work. I bet on myself, and I haven’t looked back since.
That season taught me more about who I am than comfort ever could.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love all forms of art, not just acting.
Art is everything. It’s music. It’s expression through the way you dress. It’s painting, movement, storytelling — it can be whatever you want it to be. At its core, it’s the conscious use of skill and imagination. That’s what excites me.
Music is one that inspires me deeply. I also love seeing people bold enough to dress how they truly feel instead of following trends just to fit in. Standing out is exciting. Be you because you’re enough. You’re one of a kind, and that’s what makes you interesting.
My journey in acting has been incredible, despite the rejection. I never let it define me. There are so many things in this industry that are out of your control. You can’t blame yourself or anyone else for not booking a job. What you can control is your attitude, your effort, your discipline, your passion, and your ability to genuinely be happy for others when they succeed.
I love to act. It’s my passion. Ive done for free. I’ve even paid to be part of a small-budget project because I got to create and grow. As long as I’m acting, I’m happy.
I love getting auditions. I treat every opportunity with the same discipline and commitment, whether it’s a short film, a student film, a project with friends, rehearsal, a performance, or a scene in class. I practice like I play, and I love to learn.
If there’s one thing that sets me apart, it’s my humility and my mindset. I can get grilled by my acting teacher and see it as the best thing that could’ve happened, because it makes me better. I’m not chasing validation. I’m chasing growth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the energy LA has to offer, That mix of dreamers, creatives, late bloomers, risk takers, and people reinventing themselves at every stage of life… it’s electric. You can literally feel it in the air.
Being health-conscious while still loving pizza, pasta, and street tacos is the most LA thing ever. Balance is key for me . A great slice or pasta shared with good company is part of staying youthful. I believe joy keeps you young just as much as eating healthy, and exercising.
Alba on Melrose really is a perfect staycation spot for me. It feels like a piece of Italy in West Hollywood. I’m not chef and I definitely haven’t been to Italy to try the pasta just yet, but it’s the closest thing to what I can imagine it tasting like.
Wake n Lake breakfast burrito in Hollywood every once and while is pretty elite.
Getting a group together to see a movie at The Grove is pretty routine for me. There’s something timeless about watching a film with friends, walking out buzzing about it, laughing, debating scenes. Community like that is rare. It brings my a lot of happiness, there’s not much in life that fuels my souls than seeing other people happy.
You can typically find me walking the streets of West Hollywood, I love being outdoors and under the sun. There’s so much life outside your front door you just have to seek it out.
being off social media completely is a bold choice especially in today’s world. I don’t have any relationship with social media at the moment as I can’t allow myself to loose sight of what’s most important to me, and that’s what’s ahead! It’s also allowed me to enjoy the little things we take for granted like a nice walk at the park. I don’t know maybe I’m a bit old school I guess.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I can’t stress enough how much the people you surround yourself with reflect who you are. Subconsciously, we don’t always realize how much we’re influenced, we start to talk like our friends, think like them, operate the same way, and even adopt a similar work ethic.
Because of that, I’m very strategic about who I allow myself to spend time with. My time is precious to me, especially with the industry I’m working to break into. I need to be around individuals who share the same work ethic and ambition so we can keep the momentum going. If someone doesn’t align with the positive mindset and focus I’m committed to, I create distance.
I don’t say that in a pretentious way, as if I think I’m better than anyone — that’s never my intention. It’s simply that I can’t afford distractions that might guide me off course.
With that mindset, I’ve built a small but strong community through acting classes. We support each other’s wins and provide a foundation to lean on when someone needs an extra push — whether it’s a last-minute audition, rehearsing a scene for class, or preparing for a director. That kind of support is powerful.
I strive to be a leader in my community, especially at school, and to lead by example. That’s something my older brother instilled in me. He’s my best friend and has always inspired me to pursue what matters most.
I’m also incredibly grateful for my acting coaches, who over the years have become like family. Their support and belief in me have strengthened my confidence. It’s humbling, and it pushes me to elevate myself — not just as an actor, but in my everyday life.
