We had the good fortune of connecting with Jada Renee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jada, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Our Business The INDI Group, LLC along with our non profit The Destination Dream Foundation works to help the community by focusing on the inner city youth and guiding them with the resources and tools they need to succeed at creating their own business models and grow in their creativity. The youth of today need to be educated on the topics that will ensure they are prepared for the flow of society today as it relates to our constant updated technology, access to education on economics and business development along with education on how to turn their artistic ideas into profitable business models.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business The INDI Group, LLC is essentially a marketing agency that focuses on creating unique and effective marketing strategies for young artists and entrepreneurs in the creative arts industry. We work with local artists and entrepreneurs from several cities by offering a variety of services that work to assist our clients with their brand identity, brand awareness , marketing initiatives along with offering business mentoring through our youth business education programs.

I started my brand back in college at Kent State University during my sophomore year and since then it has been a non stop marketing campaign lol I have been screaming INDI to the rooftops since I started and I’m honestly just getting started with the true mission that I thought I had all figured out back then. With that being said no, it definitely wasn’t easy. Trusting yourself and stepping out on faith in order to follow your dreams is never “easy” there are several emotions and anxieties that come with starting something new, especially an entire business haha that can make you a bit shaky at first if you’ve never been introduced to the art of business as a first option to make a living such as myself and others like me, but I feel my determination to get my brand out there along with the focus and intention I have on making my mission make sense has also helped build my confidence with the brand to simply make it all look easy lol I still get a bit nervous doing the work I do , however I never let the nerves win which is one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way.

I am most excited about the people I have met during my time building my brand. I am just shy of 10 consistent years of building my business. I started this at 19 and next year I’ll be 29 January 17th, 2022 and I can honestly say I have met some pretty amazing individuals along the way that have made it a point to assist me in the directions necessary for my growth. With that I have been able to have a bit more fun while enjoying the journey and trusting the process

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Los Angeles my favorite places to hang out are definitely the beach, any time is a great time for the Santa Monica pier along with food from one of my favorite spots “Honeybee Burger” where I always grab the Classic “Chick-A-Bee” sandwhich which is there vegan style crispy chicken sandwich OMG ITS AMAZING AND TASTES JUST LIKE FRIED CHICKEN PLEASE BELIEVE ME!

In terms of food I always eat vegan options while in Los Angeles so then I would take my friend to Monty’s and grab a classic Vegan Burger and Vegan Milkshake of course.

For some chill fun I would take a trip to Apartment 503 which is a cool lounge bar for creatives. I’ve thrown several events there so most likely if my best friend was visiting I would arrange to throw a cool LA patio event, grab a DJ and catch a vibe so she could see the space and meet some cool people on her visit.

For shopping and more cool stuff I would then take my bestie to The Santee Alley simply to shop for any and every thing she could ever want because the Santee Alley in DTLA is known to have vendors from all over selling all kinds of cool fashions from clothing to jewelry at awesome prices.

Since my best friend is like me and loves dispensary shopping while in LA lol I would then take a trip to the Marathon Cultivation Dispensary and check out their selection which always has amazing deals and after that we would cruise down the PCH and drive wherever we end up.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout Out to the late great hip hop artist and entrepreneur Nipsey Hussle and his movement with The Marathon Clothing brand along with his overall business model. Nipsey Hussle deserves a shoutout because he definitely played a large role in my success as it relates to how I think and attract opportunities to myself along with learning how to balance my emotions as an entrepreneur but handle important tasks and make memorable moments while falling in love with the process all at the same time.

Our team had the opportunity to partner along with a few community partners and create an event that allowed us to bring Nipsey Hussle to my home town in Cleveland , Ohio during the 2018 elections in order to speak about criminal justice reform and violence amongst inner city and impoverished communities. During the panel we got to discuss several topics and Nipsey answered several questions to local community members which was an amazing experience. However the highlight of that moment was realizing the ultimate powers of the law of attraction and what it really means to think about what you bring about. That entire summer before reaching out to Nipsey and his team I had been educating myself on Nipsey’s business model because I had started to pay attention to how he started positioning himself in the music industry. He no longer wanted to be seen as a rapper and wanted to slowly usher in his innovative thinking and promote his business models. Once he started to do so I realized that his business model with All Money In the record label and The Marathon Clothing were similar in their branding strategy and I started to study Nipsey interviews and listen to how he went about pushing his brand forward. Nipsey made a point to promote his clothing brand as a sense to get people to listen to his music but then created more waves with his community work. Our business model and marketing tactics are similar with INDI and our non profit and I had seen nothing like that before. I believe my addiction to learning more about business led me into learning more about Nipsey and that led to attracting him for that opportunity back in 2018. Rest in Power to the Great.
