We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
A few habits that helped me succeed were staying consistent, creating lists, and remaining a student along the way. I learned early the importance of being organized and for me that meant creating lists that helped align my thoughts in a way that made sense. Starting a business made me realize how naturally creative I am, but sometimes I need to reel in my curiosity and arrange all those ideas logically. I’ve also had to learn that there will come days when I’m feeling unmotivated, but remaining consistent will pay off every time. The more I let the momentum flow it really helped steer me on stressful days. It’s easy to get overwhelmed as a business owner because there’s an unending list of things ‘to do’. Navigating all your responsibilities plus the learning curves can make you want to check out, but consistency creates the capacity to take action on our own terms. Some days the most powerful thing we can do is complete the tasks we’ve continued to put off; the tasks that take up precious space in our minds. Although I will say the best habit I’ve kept throughout building my brand has been remaining a student. I don’t expect to know everything nor do I use the term expert lightly. I consider myself a lifelong learner and genuinely take pride in improving my knowledge in different areas. If achieving optimal wellness is a lifelong journey; what’s the rush?! My outlook when it comes to wellness has been to just have fun with it.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Wellness is the key to abundance and at Abundantlee Living we’re excited to share resources and create experiences that promote a fruitful life. One of the ways the business started was a desire to connect and ‘meet people where they are’. I started offering virtual yoga classes during the COVID19 pandemic after completing my teacher certification. Eventually things evolved to include wellness workshops, one for example ‘Falling For You’ focused on Self Love for Women.
At Abundantlee Living, we believe that community can be one of our biggest assets. We believe that wellness and community go hand in hand when it comes to improving quality of life. The more that we can lean into the tools, resources, and knowledge that are at our disposal, the more we can utilize abundance right in our own communities. That’s what helps us to stand out; we are proud of being a conduit and network for connection. Abundance is our birthright; and we deserve to access and share the benefits of wellness practices. I want people to know that Abundantlee Living is about approaching wellness in a personalized way. There are so many ways to engage health and wellbeing, and our goal is to help you sort through the options and live life in an abundant way.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The great thing about Philadelphia is there’s always something to do! For drinks I’d take a friend to Center City Sips on Wednesday evening or any of the rooftop bars throughout the week. I’d also be sure to include some time in nature, like a quiet stroll along Kelly Drive or one of the trails in Wissahickon Valley. The restaurant scene is amazing so it’s hard to go wrong. From Bookers in West Philly, Amina in Old City, to Reading Terminal Market downtown offering a mix of flavors. Honestly, I’d keep the food itinerary open to see where our taste buds sent us.
The art scene in the city is live so we’d definitely check out an exhibit at Urban Art Gallery or Pay What You Wish at the Philadelphia Art Museum. And since I know my friends also love music we’d either see a show at City Winery, check out South Jazz Club, or maybe dancing at Silk City or World Cafe Live Saturday nights. The vibes would be there regardless!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My successes have been a direct result of the love, support, and encouragement received from both my parents. Their dedication to our family created the foundation that I can proudly reflect on. When people say that we stand on the shoulders of those that come before us, I understand the power that connects us in that same way. I also dedicate this shoutout to the friends, teachers, and colleagues in my life that have continued to speak life into my gifts. I am grateful for my wellness community and how their support has been key in the success of Abundantlee Living.
