We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazmin Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jazmin, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand would have to be my passion. When it comes to Wylde Olivia, Inc and anything in relation to it, I always want people to both observe and feel my passion in every single detail. As an individual, I am very much a workaholic. So naturally, when it came to creating and overseeing my Wylde Olivia Sea Moss & Things, I applied the same dedication and work ethic and I would say that it is paying off. I literally have my hands in every detail of the business and I want my customer’s to feel that. I love that my business is small but BIG. Without my having a passion for my business as a whole, it would have been easy to have given up when things became challenging. My passion to create a quality product that tastes good and is also extremely health for you, that is what drives me in terms of Wylde Olivia the brand.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I currently work in the engineering field as an office manager/bookkeeper. I’ve been with my company for over 10 years. I also have my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health. I’m hard-working and very intentional with everything that I do. I enjoy setting goals and accomplishing them. I’d be lying if I said that the road here was easy. I also know that it wouldn’t mean as much to me if it had been. I know whole heartedly that it was my perseverance through the challenges that made and continue to make each accomplishment worthwhile. One of my favorite mottos is: You have to go through it, to get to IT! What this journey continues to teach me is that “this too shall pass” and that I need to appreciate right here and right now. What I want the world to know about Wylde Olivia ~ Sea Moss & Things is that each product is handmade with so much love. We appreciate each and every customer and hope that you feel even a piece of it when you receive your order.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As soon as my bestie lands, we’re going to In & Out! I love their food but especially their smoothies. Next I would go straight to Hollywood Blvd. I enjoy museums and there are a few little spots that I would want to show her. Being a big carefree kid on Hollywood Blvd for the day would be so much fun to me! And people watching! You could see so much! I would also love to visit the Museum of Tolerance. I’ve been so many times and it never gets old. This museum is such a humbling experience and so relevant to the times we currently live in. Social injustice is a very hot topic that needs so much attention and healing. On a lighter note, I would also want to go skydiving again so if I could convince my bestie then we’re there. Everything else would be on the fly but a great massage would be a necessity.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out my entire tribe! When I tell you that I have a village sent directly from God himself, believe me, it’s true. From my mother and aunt, to my son and daughter, there is nothing I can’t do due to their support and intense motivation. My children are literally my personal cheer team. From the minute I wake up until we end our days each day, their energy is what motivates me the most. I also have the most spectacular in-laws! My brother and sister-in-law are my sanity. I have a ton of nieces and nephews and many other family members that continue to show their support. And last but not least, there are my customers. My customers mean so much to me. I can almost say that I have a relationship with each of them. Every customer has been such a blessing to me. I’m just really grateful.
