We had the good fortune of connecting with JC White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi JC, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I saw that there was a lack of true customization and personalization in online training programs. Online training programs never really went into detail or seemed to care about the success of their clients. It was always just simple questions and framework to create generic nutrition and training programs but never took the step further to figure out what needed to be done to truly help the clients succeed. Being in the fitness industry for over 10 years now, I knew in order to create an amazing experience and a results-based service, I would need to go deeper and that meant getting a full blood analysis and biomechanical movements screening before assigning any exercises or movement prescriptions. I also realized this couldn’t just be a one-time thing and would have to involve a weekly ongoing measurement system that measured mood, energy, appetite, libido and digestion to ensure that the program is following through on what it promises. No one single person’s lifestyle is the same, nor is their body and their program should respect that.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I provide hyper-personalized online training, nutrition, and coaching programs. We are the only online program that uses bloodwork and biomechanics movement screenings to produce customized and fully personalized programs. I am proud that we have been able to grow so fast and I am excited about being able to expand my team to help out as many people as we possibly can. It wasn’t easy to get to where I am today, but I believed in the vision and ultimately knew that I could offer a lot of value to people who needed it and so that really kept me going. I’ve tried many things and failed many times, but I have always kept going and persevered due to the vision. I’ve learned that I had to get good at other things and acquire different skills to build my business. When I first got into the industry, I just focused on being the best and most knowledgeable trainer I could be, but that doesn’t expand your business. You have to learn marketing, sales, team building, systems, operations, and everything else involved in scaling a business which definitely takes time and I don’t think a lot of other trainers are aware of how much it entails. You have to be a great trainer first, but you also have to learn all these other skills to take your business to the next level. I want everyone to know that T3 Body is here to help and is a client-focused business and our main goal is to educate, inspire and deliver the results that our client wants and help fulfill the goals that the client envisions.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, we would wake up and go to brunch somewhere with an outdoor seating area and a great view of the ocean. Then we would go train at some of my favorite gyms throughout LA, followed by a post-workout meal at either In & Out or the Standing Room in Redondo Beach for a delicious burger. We would finish the day off by getting dinner somewhere and then finding a nice rooftop to enjoy some drinks and conversation. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have had many mentors that have shaped and influenced who I am today, both in-person and through tons of books, online mentors, and courses. I am always looking to learn more and think of myself as a lifelong student.
