We had the good fortune of connecting with Joey Amor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joey, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
As Ive gotten older, I realize I dont have all the time in the world. I value my time and I try to be as productive as possible. Making every day count. With all the work Ive done, I know Ive missed some key moments in the lives of the people I love. Now I try to make more time for my family and friends and still be productive. Im in a position where they can be apart of the fun work I get to do. So it doesnt feel like im working. This has made life easier and a perfect balance. You can see it in my videos.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Im proud of how much ive learned and how many wonderful people ive met traveling solo. I love sharing my adventures and seeing how many people reach back to me and say that i inspired them, motivated them to start traveling or just filming. We all have a story to tell. I recently started editing videos for a professional company. Im proud to be apart of the team and continue doing my personal project as well. Cant wait to see what else the future holds.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man! It all depends, my best friend lives near by but for friends visiting Id try to put myself in their shows and maximize their experience. Start with big profile places and then add in some local hidden gems i know here and there. Cant think of anythjng off the top of my head but i promise we will have an amazing time!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First off, Id like to thank my family for always supporting and let me be the wild one in the family. Your love and support means everything to me. My friend Alex Ochoa for being the most supportive and encouraging person when I had no one to turn to in the beginning of making YouTube videos. He really kept me going when I doubted myself. My best friends Joe Place & Edward Tolda for taking me to and from the airports. Always supporting me and loving my like family. Tal aka The Traveling Clatt for being a brother to me and just showing me love, support, inspiring me and saving my life. To all the people ive met traveling and letting me film and share our adventures. Every time I get to share a new video with people Ive traveled with and get heart felt reactions makes my day. Thank you to everyone that supports the my channel and has been watching my videos. It means the world to me. Love you all and you guys fill my heart with joy.
