We had the good fortune of connecting with Johnny Park and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Johnny, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued a creative career because it is what make me happy. When I am doing anything creative for work, it doesn’t even feel like work to me. The fact that I can make something that can benefits or inspire someone else is such an amazing concept and I love every part of it. For the longest time I was scared to go down the creative career path because it wasn’t seen as conventional, but once I took the risk and took my leap of faith I noticed how happy I was. I am currently nowhere close to where I want to be in my creative journey, but I am proud that I was able to start.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a content creator who’s focus is on lifestyle photography and streetwear fashion. Through TikTok I have got the opportunity to grown my own personal audience and work as a social media content creator for The Leverage. To get to where I am as a creative it took a lot of consistency and patience. As a creative I knew that I was putting out good content, but it is easy to get discouraged when you aren’t seeing results through the numbers or positive feedback. I just had to remind myself that I was doing this because I enjoyed making content and not just to chase the numbers. Although I am just getting started in my journey as a creative, I hope to inspire other creators along the the way have the opportunity to works with all the brands I’ve always wanted to works with.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite spots in LA is the Arts District, The Row, Little Tokyo, & Elysian Park
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to my close creative friends Aaron & Aj (@bellowbois) and Natalia Chang (@bynatichang). They have been there for me since day one supporting, encouraging, and helping me with whatever I needed in this creative journey. I also want to give a shout out to Chris Ngo (chris_theleverage) for giving me my first opportunity to work as a creative. I have learned and grown so much as a creative and I owe it to everyone that has helped me along the way.
