We had the good fortune of connecting with Jônatas Nunes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jônatas, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I believe that music and arts in general has a huge impact in the world.
I studied in a institute in the middle of a community, the biggest “favela” in São Paulo, and I saw so many lifes being changed through music, people having a new perspective in life, and also helping their family.

For me, music was a scape from the reality when I was younger, I grew up as a gay boy not being accepted by my parentes and I put my mind in music, it definitely helped me go trough my childhood traumas. The same way it caused the impact on me, I’m sure it causes impact in other people, specially kids.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Becoming a professional violinist was quite a journey! I started studying and working in a very early age, I always dedicated 100% of myself to study music. The path isn’t easy but definitely worth it!

When I got to music college, I unexpectedly started doubting myself and if I really wanted to do music for the rest of my life, that was a little before moving to the US.
When I arrived to the US I had to work in a few different jobs, following different paths, that’s when I realized that music was my life and how much I missed it.
Nowadays im still on the road, fighting for what I want, and I believe the secret is never giving up on your dreams.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them to hang out in Brooklyn NY! Club at 3 dollar bill and knockdown center lol these are the most fun clubs for me in Brooklyn.

Also would take them to visit LA, I simply love LA, the weather specially!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Instituto Baccarelli.
