We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Griffin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well I’ve always wanted to build something that would leave my mark on this world. From a young age I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I knew I wanted to compete with the world and build something that would leave a legacy behind. Thankfully I was blessed with a natural ability to create and recognize great art. Art has always constantly been in my life and I recognized that it would be a real shame if I decided to throw away my God given ability.
Before I was an actual business I started out by simply doing work for friends and family who already knew me as a graphic artist. At first I was satisfied with just doing small projects within my close friend group, but along the way I decided to go for more. I wanted to build, grow, and bring people on the team, as well as compete with the companies that I saw on television and other social media platforms. My thought process began to expand on its own as I began to realize that as long as I don’t quit on myself I could achieve my dreams.
The desire to become what my younger self knew I could always be pushed me to officially create my business now recognized as Pure Design Daily. I still have plenty more to learn within the realm of business and design. But I believe that the stars are the limit.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets us apart from our competitors is that we don’t stop at creating a logo, the logo is where we begin. Our goal is to help our clients establish a brand identity. Ensuring the success of one’s brand from the screen to the real world. Early on we were taught to not be a jack of all trades and to dominate an area of design that we are best at. When people think of a certain type of design they will think of you. However in my experience we’ve been approached for everything from print design, to web design, ui/ux design, coding, 3d design, album covers, billboards, stage design, expo designs etc. If we were to just stick to one thing then we wouldn’t be able to help as many people as we currently are able to help. And I believe that our range of experience combined with our desire to help other succeed is what truly separates us from the pack.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First thing I would do is take them to the beach. Probably the Santa Monica Pier, / Venice Beach. Then Tuesday I would make sure we take a trip to Universal Studios, Wednesday we can go down to Hollywood, grab brunch, and then go head to the Getty Museum. Thursday we could go see a dodger game, and then go clubbing at The Association after and cap the night off with some In N Out. Friday morning we would relax. But by night we would go to The Reserve, or Club Continental or both, and of course hit up Roscoe’s at the end of the night.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my college Professor Giovanni Castillo at Northern Arizona University. He believed in me when I didn’t and my parents who encouraged me to continue down this road of art instead of engineering.
My great friend Anthony Carter who is the head marketer for Pure Design Daily, he does all the things I couldn’t.
Mr. Redmond, who gave me my first real freelancing opportunity with his church Interwoven.
WBT Industries who really nurtured my design abilities straight out of college.
The Future community. Which gave me insight into what the business of design is really like and how to successfully maneuver through it.
My great friend Royal of Solo Studios who mentioned my name in rooms that I was never in.
My business partner Davon of Route586 who continues to partner with me to help business grow and thrive.
And Jesus Christ for bringing me this far.
