We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordanna Oslac and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordanna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Both my parents are very entrepreneurial and at a young age I knew I wanted to start my own business. After attending business school I started work at a jewelry company, but quickly realized I wanted to be my own boss. My mom and I always talked about starting our own company. A few years ago we went on a trip together to India to volunteer with children where we ended up meeting some amazing jewelers and our idea of Jordan Road Jewelry was born.
What should our readers know about your business?
Jordan Road Jewelry is an emerging fashion jewelry brand. We specialize is Gold Plated & Gold Filled everyday jewelry. Something we are proud of is how quickly JR has grown in such a short period of time. As a small business, being contacted by some of our dream retailers to sell with them was very exciting. We got to where we are today by being super passionate about what we do, working A LOT, and never giving up even when there were challenges. I think one of the biggest attributes to our success has been learning how to do every part of the business inside and out. We’re not above any task and truly believe sometimes you have to fake it until you make it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love and frequent LA- but Jordan Road is actually based out of Westlake Village, about 30 miles north of LA. One of our favorite hang outs in Westlake Village is a winery/bar called Stonehaus. We also frequent Malibu and enjoy going to places like Little Beach House, Taverna Tonys, and Cafe Habana. A fun weekend trip we like to take is out to Palm Desert.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dedicated to my mom, who is also the other co-founder of Jordan Road Jewelry. Wouldn’t be here without her!
