We had the good fortune of connecting with Jose Rosete and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jose, what role has risk played in your life or career?
It’s pretty crucial. Aside from moving to Hollywood and leaving home behind, there’s a transition that every actor and that I had to deal with and take into consideration at some point, and that’s wanting and needing to become a full time working actor. That means no more regular job. That’s scary when that time comes but there’s definitely a ton of risk banking on yourself, confidentially. It also meant I was following through and things were looking good!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I knew it could possibly take years and years and I would need to be ok with that. Being discouraged and experiencing set backs can be tough. I’m in an industry surrounded with rejection. I’ve found a way to turn rejection into motivation. It can be challenging but it’s extremely important to be reasonable with myself when I’m going through the tough times. The biggest thing I’ve learned is to not worry about what I can’t control. I just want the world to appreciate that hanging in there and continuing to believe in myself is easier said then done most times but I will always continue to do so.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely hiking then the beach. The Boardwalk in Venice is always a winner with visitors. My area in Koreatown really has everything I could ask for as far as a ton of options for amazing food and night life, especially since we’re talking about our fair share of ice cold beer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely my family, especially my mother. She’s the one who encouraged me to at least take some acting classes and find out if this crazy pipe dream could become a reality. She knew it was my dream. Without that little push from her, and I was terrified when she insisted, I don’t know if I would of followed through if it were all on me.
