Meet Julia Tricarico | Owner & Founder of Another Life NY

We had the good fortune of connecting with Julia Tricarico and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Julia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started Another Life NY in January 2021. Another Life NY is an online boutique that sells authentic vintage and pre-loved bags. I always valued designer bags, new or vintage, and started to grow my own vintage bag collection. I researched how to authenticate each luxury brand’s bags because I was hesitate tp purchase pre-loved. Then, I literally said to myself, “I want to make this into a business, and I want my customers to feel the same excitement I feel when purchasing a bag and feel confident in their purchase”. As for the name, Another life NY, I wanted to emphasize how vintage/pre-loved bags could be given “another life”.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I first made my way into the fashion industry as a teen model at the age of fourteen. From runway, editorial, print, high fashion, and commercial modeling, I have experience working with numerous industry professionals. These connections and experiences have helped me grow to have a deeper understanding of the fashion industry. When I went to college, I made the switch from modeling to influencing. I have collaborated with over 500+ brands including apparel, accessories, and hospitality. .

During the pandemic, I began to grow my personal vintage pre-loved designer bag collection. As I became more knowledgeable on rare pieces and authenticity, I began to educate others and share my love for vintage designer pieces. Knowing that there is a whole story behind a vintage piece and “another life” to each bag is what makes the vintage industry fascinating to me. With that in mind, Another Life NY soft-launched in 2021 as a small business via Depop while I was a college senior. I hand picked and specifically sourced the vintage bags to provide unique options for my lovely bag obsessed customers.

I am so thankful for the opportunities I have and the constant support from my family, friends, and customers. I am always looking for ways to grow Another Life NY so stayed tuned for something exciting at the end of the year!
