We had the good fortune of connecting with Travis Morningstar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Travis, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic career because it really is the only type of career that resonated with me. To me personal expression brings the highest joy and art is the purest form of expressing yourself. When I write a song I’m creating something that carries deep emotions and personal feelings. It’s more than just words and notes being played. It’s a part of me being shared.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I currently have an EP released on Spotify and streaming platforms called “Man In The Moon.” It’s my first official project and I’m proud of it because a lot went into it from the inspiration of the songs to the production and arrangement in the studio. I also recently started a band so I am in the process of rebranding. We are a 3 piece called Morningstar. We have been in the process of recording our first single and we have a show coming up on June 11th at The Mint.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to the Hollywood/Sunset strip area. We would eat at Stout Burger for dinner and head to The Whiskey Go Go or The Viper Room for a show. I also would spend a day in Topanga hiking in the morning, eating at Cafe on 27 for lunch and having dinner at Inn of The Seventh Ray.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shout out to my dad. From a very young age I was around music because of him. He bought me my first guitar on my 11th birthday and inspired me to play.
