We had the good fortune of connecting with Kajé Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kajé, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work and life balance is something I am continually learning and growing in. My professional job is a high stress level job because I am an ICU nurse. I learned to use art as an outlet, and therapy. With COVID Our patient population completely changed which led to major adjustments and changes and increased stress. This led me to dumping more of myself into my art and pushing myself harder as an artist because I knew my struggles were relatable and the music I was creating not only provided healing opportunities for myself but also for my fans and listeners as well.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am so blessed to have the gifts that I have received. I am most proud of my versatility and ability to create sounds that continually vary. I got to where I am today because I never gave up. There were moments where I took time off, but I am always called back to use my voice, then I realized my voice is so much bigger than just me it provides healing and therapy to people going through similar situations. My gift has grown substantially because I surround myself with people who pour into me and encourage me to expand, they want to hear me so I owe it to them to be the best that I can be. I am where I am today because I stopped thinking of my life as just about me. We are all apart of a huge connected network if you focus on moving out of love and light and growing in your calling you’ll fall into place exactly where you belong. It’s not easy, I constantly have doubts and fears that often bring up road blocks but I keep going I keep trying new things and I never give up.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love San Diego, which is why I’ve stayed I really enjoy being outdoors and enjoying the sun so I would take them kayaking, to the beach, and maybe a hike. I am also a foodie so we’d have to go to morning glory for brunch because the vibe and food is amazing and a dinner at Louisiana purchase.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There have been so many beautiful souls I have encountered on my journey. I am most grateful for my family my parents have poured into me and encouraged me to always chase my dreams and be the best that I can be. My family supports and pushes me to grow artistically, and I can’t wait to give them the lives they deserve.
I want to give a special shout out to my artistic family especially my engineers Chelly Jane, Riz Leigh and the sound lounge family for always pouring into my projects and working together to bring these visions to life.
