We had the good fortune of connecting with Ken Arutyunyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ken, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The mental health of the world has definitely been impacted through the years especially recently due to the current pandemic. We have witnessed so many people suffer mentally and physically this last year. I provide therapy for those who struggle with mental health issues and work to help them find their path to a better life.
Mental healthy therapy is beneficial for every individual and we love to bring smiles to people who struggle with daily challenges and struggles.
I have also used my business to create drives to personally pass out clothes, food, and water to the homeless with help from employees, friends, and family. In 2019, we had our biggest turnout where it took 4 full days to personally pass out clothes to homeless all over Los Angeles. Unfortunately, we were unable to have the drive last year due to COViD-19 but I am looking forward to having a big drive later this year.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My start into the mental health field began with Howard Chudler & Associates, Inc. where I began to provide behavioral therapy to individuals in need. Through the years, I learned the challenges of this profession and the difficulty of being a therapist especially having to help others while taking care of your own health. I was able to start my own project and business after learning what was needed to set a foundation into your own company.
My new project that I am currently working on and excited to share with the world is the launch of Psych Me LA which will help provide therapy for those suffering with depression, anxiety, addictions, and other severe challenges. Psych Me LA will also continue to have pop up events to help provide clothes and food to the homeless, drives to collect electronics and toys for Children’s Hospitals, and events to raise awareness for mental health.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in Los Angeles, we are blessed with the best weather, beaches, restaurants, and lifestyle. First stop would be Malibu beach where we go to clear our minds, take in the sun, enjoy the beautiful ocean, and eat delicious food. The city has a lot to offer from the best restaurants to exciting hikes which are all great to improve your mental health. My personal favorite spots in Los Angeles are Kabosu sushi, Firefly in Studio City, Moonshadows in Malibu, and Maestro steakhouse.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My personal shoutout is Dr. Howard Chudler who mentored me at such a young age and helped me grow into the therapist I am today. Over the past decade, he guided me like a father figure as well as taught me the significance of the psychological world.
