Hi Kenna, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
I’ve come across many quotes that have been real guiding lights in both my acting career and personal life. Right now, there’s one quote that really speaks to me: “Do your part and let God do the rest.” It resonates with me because a lot of my successes have come from being in the right place at the right time – that magical intersection where preparation meets opportunity. After all, isn’t that what success is all about? Just being ready when the right moment comes along.

And you know, I’ve also embraced the idea that what is meant to be will be. If something isn’t meant for me, I believe that something else will come along, something that’s a better fit for my journey. It’s all about trusting the process and having faith that life has a way of leading us to where we’re meant to be.

Delving into my art is always a passion-filled journey for me. What sets my work apart is the genuine connection I seek to establish, whether on stage or through other creative endeavors. I take pride in infusing authenticity into my performances, capturing the essence of the characters I portray or the narratives I bring to life.

Professionally, my journey has been a blend of perseverance and dedication. It certainly hasn’t been a walk in the park, but overcoming challenges has been an essential part of my growth. One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the significance of resilience. Each obstacle has presented an opportunity to refine my skills and deepen my understanding of the craft.

The path to where I am today has been marked by continuous learning and adaptability. I’ve embraced the necessity of evolving with the industry, staying attuned to the dynamic nature of the artistic landscape. Surrounding myself with mentors and collaborators who inspire and challenge me has been instrumental in my development.

In terms of what I want the world to know about me and my work, it’s about creating meaningful and impactful art. I aspire to contribute narratives that resonate with people, evoke emotions, and perhaps even provoke thought. Ultimately, I aim to leave a positive imprint on those who engage with my work, fostering a connection that transcends the boundaries of the stage or screen.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting the area for a week, I would make sure to include Olvera Street in our itinerary. This historic gem in downtown Los Angeles is not only a feast for the senses but also a deep dive into the cultural roots of the city. We would start the day with breakfast at a charming local cafe and then make our way to Olvera Street, immersing ourselves in its vibrant atmosphere. We’d explore the colorful stalls, indulge in authentic Mexican cuisine, and soak in the rich history of the street.

After our cultural excursion, we’d venture into other local neighborhoods, discovering eclectic shops and boutiques. The afternoon would be reserved for exploring the art scene, perhaps visiting a nearby gallery or museum to appreciate the city’s cultural offerings. Evenings would be a mix of relaxation and excitement. We might choose to unwind at a waterfront cafe for a casual dinner or attend a live performance or cultural event to experience the dynamic arts and entertainment scene.

Our outdoor adventure day would involve exploring a nearby nature reserve in the morning, followed by a casual lunch at a scenic spot. We’d catch the sunset at a picturesque location, rounding off the day with a sense of tranquility.

The itinerary would also feature a day focused on culinary delights, including a visit to a local farmers’ market for fresh produce and a cooking class or food-tasting event to savor the diverse flavors the city has to offer.

Throughout the week, I’d aim to create a balance between cultural exploration, outdoor activities, and culinary experiences, ensuring my best friend gets a taste of the rich tapestry that makes the area unique. Olvera Street, with its historical charm and cultural significance, would undoubtedly be a highlight of this unforgettable week.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Tackling this question is challenging because it really does take a village to get anywhere in life. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to a diverse array of individuals, including coaches, teachers, friends, and coworkers. Each of these connections has played a distinctive and vital role in my personal and professional development, collectively contributing to the person I am today.

At the forefront of this acknowledgment, however, stands a profound gratitude for my parents. Their role in my life is unparalleled, as the opportunities I presently enjoy are a direct result of their courageous decision to relocate from one country (Mexico) to another (United States). Motivated by an unwavering aspiration to provide a better life for their children, their sacrifices and enduring commitment have laid the foundation for my aspirations and achievements, making their influence an indispensable cornerstone of my journey.
