We had the good fortune of connecting with Kira Bowdre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kira, why did you pursue a creative career?
My entire life, I’ve always had a huge imagination. It’s always made me happy to express myself through different mediums because I always struggled to verbalize my emotions. Anytime I was able to be creative, it was an outlet for me and made me so happy. I knew early on that my future would have to include some sort of creative expression in order for me to be fulfilled. Once I enrolled in college, I wanted to use my creative talents to help others–hence, KRenee Marketing coming about.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my business, KRenee Marketing at the end of December 2021. I had somewhat of an idea about what I wanted it to be for years, but a lot of the processing and fine tuned details intimidated me. I wasn’t clear about what services I wanted to provide, branding, names, and etc. It freaked me out to start a business because I was unsure of what could come from it. I found myself fearing where my potential could take me. It wasn’t until one late night in bed that I was suddenly filled with concrete ideas that assisted me in solidifying my business plan. It was like the burst of inspiration I had been praying for finally came! I gained so much clarity that night. From that point forward, I pushed myself and haven’t stopped since.

KRenee Marketing was created to assist business owners in generating sales through social media. I provide services for every type of business owner through packages. Each package is extremely flexible and caters to my social media savvy clients, my clients that are somewhat familiar with social media, and my clients that are completely lost when it comes to social media. The value found in my business is my content creating service and my ability to teach to those who are interested in obtaining the skill.

I want anyone reading to know that sometimes your dreams don’t come overnight. If you told me that I would be a Social Media Manager in middle school, I probably would tell you that you didn’t know what you were talking about. During that time I was dealing lots of trauma and immersed myself in my YouTube channel. I was passionate about videography, photography, video editing, beauty, fashion, and content creating. YouTube was my way of combining all of the things I loved. After working with a few companies throughout high school, I learned the importance of branding and marketing. I was ill-informed of how to market myself and knew that marketing would be my major in college. I did not have my life all figured out (I still don’t). Once I graduated, I had no clue what I was going to do with my life. My YouTube channel was my dream job (and still is), but it hadn’t performed as well as I had hoped. I envisioned myself graduating with over 100,000 subscribers and a stable income. I prayed often about my future. God answered my prayers and led me to start my own business.

In my business I am still able to utilize all of my passions while helping others. There were times when I wanted to give up. The pressure of what to do with the rest of my life was unbearable; however, I did not quit. I could never allow myself to commit to quitting because that meant that I didn’t give myself a chance to succeed. You have to believe that no matter what, what you are meant to do will find you.

Right now, I am most excited to about working with more businesses and expanding my own business. I am learning so much everyday from every challenge I face. I tend to get overwhelmed thinking about the unknown, but I’ve learned to embrace the beauty of the present and to trust in God’s plan for me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is actually so relatable because one of my best friends lives in California while I live in Georgia and we always talk about finally meeting (we became besties through YouTube)! I am from Augusta, Georgia and we have pretty nice nature trails and scenic spots. If my best friend were to visit, I would take her to Savannah Rapids on a nice bike ride to see the Savannah River. To eat, I could choose numerous spots. I’d love to take her to TakoSushi, Olivianos, or Miyabis. For a nice girl’s nice out for drinks, I’d take her to Salt + Marrow in North Augusta and have drinks on the rooftop.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents have been encouraging about me starting my own business. At a very young age, they always encouraged my siblings and I to reach for the stars and to work for ourselves if that’s what we desired. The journey leading up to this point has not been easy; however, my parents have always been my rock when I felt stuck and confused ab0ut my future.

In addition to my parents, my friends have been a major support system when it comes to encouragement. Sometimes I feel that I’m not where I want to be and they always help me appreciate the journey! They listen to me when I’m frustrated and provide me an outlet to express myself. They always take the needed actions to make me feel supported and loved.
