We had the good fortune of connecting with Kojo Sarfo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kojo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always viewed myself as an entrepreneur, so from a young age, I was always looking for things to sell and for ways to garner attention.

When I decided to do social media full-time in 2021, I knew that I wanted to make content that could help educate and entertain people, and that eventually I would want to lengthen the content and turn it into long form.

So that’s why I started my company, Sarfo Entertainment so that I could empower myself and others to help me reach this goal.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art revolves around creating videos that help people understand themselves more. I went to school for 9 years to become a doctorally prepared mental health nurse practitioner. There were a lot of challenges along the way, including the late diagnosis of ADHD, which helped me understand myself much better. Additionally, it also helped me position myself for success.

My education, my story, and my struggles have given me all the tools that I need to help equip other people with the necessary information that they need to become the best version of themselves. Along the way, I’ve learned that as long as you do and try, you’ll make progress and get closer to achieving your goals.

However, not taking action and lacking belief is a perfect recipe for depression and frustration. The main thing I want the world to know about my brand and my story is that I am somebody who had a dream and decided to never give up.

I still have my struggles and I still get frustrated, and I make many mistakes along the way. However, my belief and my ability to reach those who are desperately seeking the information that I post has never wavered, and that’s given me the energy to persevere and to continue.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Los Angeles, the first place that I would take them to was Mulholland Drive. We will go to my favorite part of Mulholland Drive, which is between Sherman Oaks and Studio City and we will take a look at the city.

Then we will talk about all the possibilities of what could happen and about how grateful we are to be in a world that allows us to chase our dreams. If my friend was in town for a week, I would take them to all the different comedy clubs that I perform at, The Comedy Chateau, the Hollywood Improv, the Fourth Wall comedy cafe in Hollywood.

I would take them out to my favorite restaurants. Um, most specifically il tramezzino in Studio City,

and I will take them to any pre premieres or events that are happening in the city as well.

The most exciting things to check out in Los Angeles are the scenery, the people, and just being aware and on the lookout for all of the amazing things that could happen.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family is the most important thing to me, and they are the ones who give me the energy, love, support, and everything that I need to reach my dreams.

Without their help or support, I wouldn’t be in the position that I’m in today. But most importantly, all credit goes to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I’m a Bible-believing Christian, and I’m not the most perfect individual, but my faith has sustained me. And it has given me the belief that I can do anything that I put my mind to.
