We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Thomasino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristen, what do you want people to remember about you?
The Social Good Experiment: A Journey of Healing and Empowerment
As the founder of The Social Good Experiment, my journey began with a deeply personal struggle. After a traumatic medical experience, I faced the daunting challenge of severe fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease markers, and full-body weakness. Over 150 weeks, I dedicated myself to various therapies, regaining my physical abilities and embracing a renewed purpose: to inspire and empower others through social good initiatives.

The Social Good Experiment is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of community and innovation. By participating in this experiment, individuals contribute to market research with their healthcare provider and discover profound insights about themselves. This project underscores the importance of personal growth and societal impact, offering a platform for participants to engage in meaningful change. My goal in expanding this platform to the masses is to empower our existing healthcare professionals and patients to communicate better. They allow patients to act as data scientists, delving into their day-to-day behaviors.

Through this initiative, I aim to foster a global movement that prioritizes well-being, collaboration, and positive societal impact. Join me on this journey to create a world where healing and empowerment go hand in hand and every individual has the opportunity to contribute to the greater good.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Social Good Experiment was created because I was suffering so much that I had no choice but to study every area of my life and unravel the secrets of why I experienced certain sensations throughout my body. My history of working in technology gave me a leg up because I could think about my life through the lens of a project management project. Like the agile scrum master, I would protect myself from outside distractions and work on my transformation every day. Pivoting and dealing with the unknown of having to restore my body from severe fibromyalgia, I found my way forward. Some days hurt more than others. I sometimes felt like I had setbacks, but now I recognize that it was all part of the way forward and transformation. My form was weak for some time, requiring me to treat myself with special care. I was nourishing myself with precise inputs, being aware when specific inputs upset my system, and understanding how that pain translated from my brain to my muscles. In this type of life, when your stomach is uneasy, most moments and movements cause excruciating pain. You’re dripping with sweat. How you process is just taxed. So, every moment matters. Things are all connected. I learned it was possible to reduce my suffering by observing and changing my inputs. Years later, I’ve translated my learnings into a platform where healthcare providers and users can engage in their day-to-day “The Social Good Experiment.” I think what we will find will be phenomenal when we unify and share learnings.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents have been incredibly supportive of my dreams my whole life. I was one of those kids that had chronic pain with migraine headaches all the time. They would still encourage me to try and seek help.

Later, when I got sick from unexpected events and a long battle, I decided to help others when I was strong enough. They have been with me along for the ride. To date, I fund my projects and share my business plans with them so they understand my vision and what I am building. They know that it’s been a long project of first rehabilitating my body to reduced levels of suffering and increased abilities. Now, the next phase has been in full action for the last three years: doing research and building my organization. This product, “The Social Good Experiment,” is exciting because, in a way, it touches on my father’s work in his early career with data. My vision is to empower today’s healthcare professionals with tools that increase communication and help identify trends. The things that my father and I had to figure out together for years during my life were the unexpected events I experienced. He and my mother never gave up on me. They encouraged me to try and be independent. I’ve made lots of mistakes and gotten angry and frustrated. I am human. My parents have always been patient, given me my space as needed, and supported me when I asked for it.

Their support has made a huge difference in my life, and it has inspired me to help others by sharing my story and creating technology solutions. They have always been there for me, and I want to be able to offer that kind of support to others in need in the ways I am able to best uplift our healthcare professionals of today to empower others who suffer like I have.
