Meet Liku Amadi | Online Business Attorney

We had the good fortune of connecting with Liku Amadi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liku, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My quality of life was suffering in corporate and, to make matters worse, we were at the height of the pandemic. I did what I said I would never do and decided to start my own law practice so I could have control over my time. I thought: Worst case scenario, I could always go back to corporate or find something else that I enjoyed doing.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Anasa Law Firm is a virtual law practice. We assist online service providers in laying a solid legal foundation for business through legal strategy, contracts, entity formation, and trademarks.
We’re most proud of serving online business owners in a non traditional way. While most firms bill by the hour, we do not. We only bill clients using flat fees and legal subscriptions. Whether it’s your first year in business or you’ve made millions, a predictable legal budget is always an advantage for business owners – our billing model saves clients time, stress, money and helps them plan efficiently.
Working in a corporate environment was great for experience and career-building but I realized that this was not how I wanted to build my legal career. I left corporate to build a law firm centered around the quality of life I desired and, importantly, I got to choose my clients which meant pouring back into the budding Black business community.
Some of the most important lessons I’ve learned in my transition to building Anasa Law Firm are:
– Trust yourself, you know best.
– Business ownership is 90% mental and therapy is necessary
– Mistakes get you further than perfection ever will
– Operating like a successful business gets you much farther than looking like a successful business
– Ask for what you want and need, a closed mouth doesn’t get fed
– It takes a village
If there is one thing I want the world to know about me as an attorney, it’s that I’m an asset to the Black business community.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shoutout to the people that have always poured into me.
