We had the good fortune of connecting with Lincolne Innis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lincolne, what principle do you value most?
Honesty; with clients, partners, and most importantly with yourself. And that encompasses trust and faith. It’s that old cliché: if you don’t believe in yourself, no one will. But it’s the truth. In order to succeed in all aspects of life you need to trust in the mission you’ve set yourself, and that means being honest with yourself about your goals and intentions. And when you have trust in yourself, so will others.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So, specifically speaking, I’m a writer. I have self-published one book through Amazon, and I also take on custom poetry commissions from time to time. I initially began sharing my writing on social media as a outlet of expressing myself during a very rough time in my life, and I found it to be very therapeutic. Others took a liking to what I was sharing, and it has slowly grown more serious from there. I’ve been lucky enough to maintain who I am in this digital medium whilst learning how to market my work and grow and audience. If there is one thing I would like the world to know about me and my work it is that you don’t have to let the things that happen to you define you, and, in fact, you can even use them to build the foundations of a bright future.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would drag them to the art galleries, against any resistance, in particular the Art Gallery of NSW. If the weather is favourable, walking around the botanical gardens is a must, and then walking to the iconic architecture in the city; such as the Harbour Bridge, The Opera House, and St Mary’s Cathedral. I would take them through my list of favourite restaurants; Meat & Wine Co, Rock Bar & Grill, Sàke, and The Little Snail. And finally catching the harbour ferry to Manly beach. Riding that ferry back and forth with a book is one of my favourite things in the world, and I love to share it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Words are insufficient for describing the gratitude I have for the people that I call my family and friends. After an accident that changed my whole life took place, and left me with no outlook on the future, to have these people stick by me through all the rough patches, the least I can do is show them that I am capable of creating something remarkable from the support they have given me. So I dedicate this to them.
