We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Bean and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsey, how do you think about risk?
I’ve always been a person who follows their gut over logic and reason. When I was 18 I took the chance and decided to start acting. There was nothing stopping me. I lived about two hours outside of Los Angeles at the time and now that I was 18, I could do anything I wanted without anyone telling me no. I googled how to find castings and got started creating an acting profile online. If I didn’t take that big risk that summer, I would never have been in so many wonderful projects with so many interesting people.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Right now I am focusing on my singing journey. I was never a good singer and could barely keep a tune. However, around three years ago now, I found an online singing course and after doing my proper research I purchased the course. I have been doing vocal exercises for 2-3 hours a day, 5-6 days a week since then. I have grown so much as a vocalist. I still have some stage fright but luckily I’ve been able to record and put out covers on youtube to gain some confidence and experience. There were plenty of times where I would think I was making progress only to listen to myself singing and have a mental breakdown thinking I’d never make progress. But I stuck with it. I trusted the process and I continue to grow with my voice every day. I’ve been putting out youtube covers and practicing taking criticism. There’s no harsher critics than on the internet.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend come visit I would definitely take them to all of my favorite spots. I’m not much of a sightseer so instead we would go to some of my favorite places to eat and shop. The farmer’s market in Hollywood is a great staple. There’s so much to see and eat. I also would take them hiking up in the hills by the Hollywood sign. I know a great little cave in the area.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My best friend and partner in crime, Chris R Notarile. I have acted in so many of his short films on his youtube channel. He really taught me how to learn on the job and how to expand my range as an actor. I owe him so much of my success.
