We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
To Do or Not To Do? That’s the question that haunted me for months. I loved my career as a TV Advertising Sales Rep. It was consistent, my coworkers were friends and the paycheck was steady. After 15 years in the industry, it was cake, I was great at it, my nights and weekends were free – but I craved more. I wanted freedom and a chance to make a difference in people’s lives. The problem was, I was scared. For the first time in my life, I stood up to my fear and took a chance on myself. That decision changed everything. Lisa Lopez Real Estate was a risk and it’s been the most life changing thing I have ever done. I joined the powerhouse Palm Realty Boutique, combined forces with the top producing team, Team Tami, and within the first year, I was recognized as Rookie of the Year from the South Bay Association of REALTORS®. Shortly after, I was honored with Top 100 CA Agents on Social Media by Property Spark. All of this because I believed it could happen. When was the last time you were nervous about making a decision? Like really truly scared? What you do in those moments, when fear is knocking at the door, will ultimately change your life. The word risk is intimidating but it means possibility and chance. Why not spice things up a bit, take a chance on yourself and see what happens?

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a REALTOR® + Architect of Change, my business is relationships. I’m passionate about engaging and helping others reach their residential real estate goals. I’m not your typical REALTOR®. I provide a customized concierge service while leading with heart, authenticity, integrity, passion, and guide you every step of the way. With an extensive background in sales and negotiations, I’m able to provide my clients with exceptional service and successful closes. I learned to TRUST early on. Trust in me, my vision, my goals, and that’s the reason I am here today. It started with an idea, a vision of what I wanted my future to look like. The trick is to believe you’ll actually get there and to be grateful every step of the way. I wasn’t sure how I was going to do it but I did my research, talked to everyone I knew, took a few deep breaths, and jumped. My first connection to Palm Realty was Tami Humphrey of Team Tami, the team I joined 6 months in. We were randomly connected through mutual friends but had never met. She introduced me to Sheri Fejeran and Brett Zebrowski and instantly, I knew I was home. Now it was time to build my business. Building something from scratch was intriguing, exciting, and absolutely terrifying. I had spent my career training for this and I wanted to stand out in a market with so many top producing agents. I wanted to be trusted and I wanted people to know how much it really meant to me to be able to guide them through one of the biggest transactions of their lives. How do you get people to trust you when you’re ‘new’ to the industry? You start with the people you know. Relationships are so important to me so I leveraged my connections. I told everyone I knew that I had started a passion project. With a lot of hard work and a little sprinkle of synchronicity, Lisa Lopez Real Estate got her wings. I’ve been sharing the world of real estate through my eyes –colorful and filled with a passion for decor, lifestyle, and community. My vision is unique but my goal is to visually entice you while giving you tips and inspiration along the way to making your real estate goals a reality. One of the most critical factors behind the success of my brand is the passion behind it. If you know me, you know I’m vibrant, my heart is full of love and I’d do anything to help. I’ve had many challenges and lessons along the way but each obstacle has been an opportunity to grow into who I am today. I’m a true believer that things work out at the right time. Have you ever thought…I’ve prayed for this? It’s here, it’s happening? It’s an unforgettable feeling.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Palm trees, beach, sunshine, culture, nature, art, and delicious food. That’s LA. I’m a beach girl so the first step is straight to the sand to see any one of the gorgeous beaches from the South Bay to Malibu. We have some of the most incredible views so nature time is a must. Usually starting with a hike: Los Leones, Escondido Falls, Griffith Park, or Runyon and sometimes stopping by Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades, a hidden gem. Breakfast is local and usually in walking distance to one of the Playa Del Rey neighborhood favorites: Tanners Coffee, Cafe Milan, Playa Provisions, or Bacari. The first-timers get a trip to The Griffith Observatory, The Getty, and everyone gets a trip to my favorite, Matador Beach. You can get lost walking the amazing streets of LA but don’t miss walking around Abbot Kinney, Venice canals, Third Street Promenade, The Grove, Melrose Ave and Beverly Blvd, and Little Tokyo. We are known for a spectrum of cuisines but every guest gets an introduction to my ALL time favorite Mexican restaurant in LA (and I have tried many): El Compadre/West Hollywood. Shout out to Miguel Martinez for the tremendous service and the best chips + salsa, flaming margaritas, and flavors in town. If you’re a fan of Korean BBQ, Kang Ho-dong Baekjeong in Koreatown is the most authentic and delicious. Music lovers should take a trip to The Hollywood Bowl, The Greek, The Fonda (my fav), or any of the many music-filled venues in town. If it’s the right time of year, concerts at the Santa Monica Pier, movies at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and the Marina Del Rey Boat Parade are a must. The list is ongoing but the one thing they all have in common is…endless possibilities. You will never be bored!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This business is not always laughing and champagne. The ups and downs are real, and the emotions are high. Having a support system is key and I am beyond grateful for mine. I have to send some love to my tribe. The ones who see the behind-the-scenes footage and who are there every step of the way. My family and friends have seen me transition through many life stages and have supported my transformation with more love than I could have imagined. The list is long, but thank you to each and every one of you. I’d like to give a shout out to my rockstar Team Tami teammates: Tami Humphrey, Chad Aronson, Morgan Ward, Kristen Faye, Erika Mena, Ziari Aguilar, and to all of my Palm Realty Boutique family, spotlighting the reason that I joined Palm Realty, Sheri Fejeren. And also, a huge thank you to my clients for trusting me to turn their vision into reality.
