We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucas Lockwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lucas, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
** If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you! ** Everyday we are faced with the option to stay comfortable or to do something that is challenging. With every challenge comes change and I’ve made it my life mission to always challenge myself. As I truly accept that, what is for me, will not escape me, I know everything I dream of is already mine, and they will come when I’m ready!
So to summarize; 1- Faith, 2- Believing in myself (I am enough), 3-Accepting the fact that the future I want is mine(No one can steel it.) 4- Perseverance (In the right time it will happen) 5- Facing challenges face on. (I am a warrior, I will make it through this).
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Sure. My parents always instilled in me the faith to believe that I am put on this earth for a reason and for a season, and what I do in this world matters because I matter. To answer the question, I’ll use one of my favorite quotes, “Your network is your net worth” and that cannot be more true because my network has indeed helped me stay busy. With that being said, as an entertainer who has had the privilege to work alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Bruce Willis, Donald Faison, Arielle Kebbel, and Morris Chestnut just to name a few, I’ve learned that it is a craft, so everyday I do all I can to better that craft.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Of course! Being that I live on the west side, #BESTSIDE of Los Angeles, I would first suggest you to start breakfast at Blue Daisy where you will find the best Lavazza Coffee and strawberry, banana french toast. Then a quick stroll to Third Street Promenade, in Santa Monica, where you can listen to live music from street performers, visit some of the best retail stores in this open-air shopping strip. Then a quick, 2 block walk to the Santa Monica Pier, where you can eat lunch at ‘Bubba Gump’ on the pier where the seafood is as fresh as could be. I then would hop over to Abbot Kinney street in Venice California on an electric Bird scooter, where I’d stop by my favorite ice cream shop, Salt and Straw, to grab a quick bite of the most delicious ice cream flavors and waffle cone, in California. A few hours later, I would take us to the Bungalow, for an awesome end-of-night cocktail bar experience. With multiple separate rooms to hang out in, couches everywhere, music pumping, and fireplaces in multiple spots on the premises, we would not get bored. They even have a ping pong table. Overall, you would have a wonderful day, filled with great memories!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people that have come into my life that have impacted it, however a few have stuck out. For starters, my family and friends who have always believed in me and supported me with love and prayers. My faith in Jesus, who always brings me peace and comfort in tough times. Last but definitely not least, my coaches David Rountree, Annie Grindlay and the team at Lesly Kahn, whom in the past years have drastically helped me light my passion, my talent and the belief in myself.
