We had the good fortune of connecting with Magie Hue and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Magie, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?

Honestly I’ll admit, there’s a good chunk of times I feel uninspired. When I feel this way, I’ll typically tune into my favorite content creators, songs, or artists.

I’ve always been inspired by how they can create and convey emotions with simple tools, such as a pencil or phone. Witnessing their creativity motivates me to tap into various art forms to express myself. I spend a good chunk of time consuming content from various YouTube creators, such as Tam Kaur, Life Of Riza and HINDZSIGHT. Being able to learn their stories and see their creations inspires me that I can also do the same.

I find inspiration in the art of storytelling, unraveling the intricacies of everyday life where emotions are a universal language. Capturing relatable moments and the little things often overlooked, holds great significance for me, forming the foundation for stories that connect with a broad audience. I hope to contribute to making life more navigable for others by offering comfort and understanding with my art.

Alright, so let’s move onto how your creative journey has evolved?

Over my creative journey, I’ve navigated through self-doubt and comparison to others. I learned that art is personal, and while inspiration is good, it’s vital to tap into your own voice and style for creative freedom.

It’s been tough, I’ve learned to love the journey. I believe in the power of storytelling, and I hope people find value in the unique way I convey my stories, making them relatable to diverse audiences. Regardless of where one is in their creative journey, it’s never too late to explore new avenues and redefine one’s path.

I am passionate about empowering others to reach their highest potential. My creative journey started off with photography, then I began DJing and getting into music production. Now Magie Hue combines music and filming focusing on fostering personal growth. On the other hand, Happy Hues Co. is my arts and crafts platform where I create crafts that can bring joy to people’s everyday lives, including mug rugs, cups, candles, and one of a kind art pieces.

With social media, it’s easy to focus on numbers and compare ourselves with others. Knowing the competitive landscape can be scary to get started, but giving into fear and negativity hinders personal growth. Genuine art goes beyond numbers. Believing in your vision is crucial, focus on why you enjoy doing something and success will come afterwards.

Overall, my journey has taught me the importance of embracing individuality, enjoying the creative process, and fostering a sense of empowerment and joy in both my storytelling and artistic creations.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Southern California has so many amazing food spots and scenic beach views! I’d take my friends to Mexican food at the Mercado Gonzalez Northgate food hall, Vietnamese food at Quán Mii, Mo Ran Gak for KBBQ, and Sushi Imari for sushi. I might even cook my signature pesto chicken pasta with pine nuts to balance a home cooked meal.

I’d also take them to a speakeasy either at the Blind Rabbit or Strong Water in Anaheim, both places having personalities with their decor and drink selections.

For exercising, we could go on my favorite place to walk at Bolsa Chica State Beach, where I usually see herons and stingrays.

For activities, we’d go to a concert or museum in LA, including my favorite spot, Cliftons Republic. Cliftons is a 3 story club that includes a tiki bar, room with hip hop music, and a swing dancing room, you can experience a little bit of everything there! I’d also love to explore new coffee shops around the area. Basically, a week with lots of food and exploring.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I want to express my gratitude to Jeffrey and Lena, my best friends, for consistently being my support system. Whether I’m facing challenges or celebrating small victories, your unwavering presence means the world to me, and I’m forever thankful!

A special shoutout to my Chunes group for consistently showing support and love. Your constant presence grounds and inspires me in numerous ways.

I also want to acknowledge Sam, Kevin, and Ermi for continuously inspiring me as well. By being true to themselves, being so independent, and maintaining confidence, they set an example that motivates me.
