We had the good fortune of connecting with Massimo Cibelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Massimo, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
There are many habits that have helped me get to where I am today. I attribute it to the hours of unforced research – passionately studying what the great minds did in the past; reading their stories and putting them to practice. That is the most important part I would say. It is one thing to read advice and leave it on the desk, but to further it by actually putting those practices into play is where the magic begins.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I spend a great deal of time placing attention on the clients I do business with. My objective is that they sense they are the only clients I have, and in turn provide them the best possible service they could receive. Individualized and personal. This drive and passion I have for my clients is quite unique and will be hard to find.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Favorite place? It definitely has to be Downtown Los Angeles. There are pockets in the city that have the look of the early 20th century – makes you feel like you’re actually in the 1920’s. In fact, I’ve heard some of the restaurants today that were once around during the prohibition era, now have secret rooms that require a passcode consisting of a specific “rhythm and cadence of knocks at the door” which then opens up to a lively jazz bar! It’s quite intriguing to say the least. Anyone that has an opportunity to visit DTLA and the hidden gems that are laced within the city will see exactly what I mean.

(Massimo Cibelli of State of Exterior has also helped CaliNetworks as a digital contractor consultant, and throughout his time there, was awarded the “40 under 40” award with the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce.)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
From the encouragement and positivity of Joel Osteen to the pushing from David Goggins, I have learned a great deal from these two individuals. Their consistent messages have resonated with me throughout the years; they have helped shape me into who I am today.
