We had the good fortune of connecting with Mauricio Robleto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mauricio, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I recently read a quote from Walter Robb, former co-CEO of Whole Foods and goes like this, “The stores are canvas upon which we can paint our deeper purpose of bringing whole foods and greater health to the world” What that tells me in a very inspiring but also exciting way, is that once we commit and connect to a purpose, the rest of the pieces will fall into place. Not necessarily an easy thing but I notice(in business) a sort of confidence that the milestones are just around the corner to be accomplished. This keeps me going and makes me not want to stop, even when failure happens.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I was inspired to bring the “good stuff” from Costa Rica to folks out here, specially restaurants. Mango, Passion Fruit, Guava purees etc. We got offered pasteurized options and it tasted just like home! No business is easy but after 5+ years, I think, I internally understood myself better which had a profound impact on my company. I noticed I was “money chasing” and that was connected to an anxiety that things were not going to turn out. When I relaxed about that, things started to happen, it has been almost like I sent a message to the universe. This gave room for a sense of purpose and we connected with growers and leaders that were aligned with our thinking. Our brands Jungle Pulp and Dulù bring the “good stuff” from Costa Rica and have a solid positive impact on both the environment and local communities. www.junglepulp.www wwww.foodsfromworld.com
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Maybe the best place in Los Angeles during these Covid times for me is a spot I found in Palos Verdes up in the hills– a bit secret if you will – where you can see the best sunset ever! Folks are beginning to discover it so it might not be that secret for long. Standing at the top of the cliff, you see the sun settling but also you can see the reflection on the windows of the gorgeous houses behind you, this creates the experience of two sunsets going on(front and back). I will bring beach chairs and enjoy with family what we now call our “Tatooin sunset”. But the event doesn’t end there, once the sun is gone, it turns pitch dark and a second beautiful experience arrives, when it is summer you start to feel the fresh air on your skin. In a surreal way, in the dark and with nature around, you realize that maybe Covid made us all appreciate life again.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this article to all self help and growth development organizations and individuals around the world. It is an act of great generosity to fight for another human to be successful and to make it in the world. Because of people like that, my quality of life is better than it could have ever been.
