We had the good fortune of connecting with Max Landwirth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Max, what do you attribute your success to?
I think that “success” is subjective. For me, I define success as having the opportunity to do what I love to do every day, with people who I love working with, on projects that I feel have the potential to make an impact in the community around me. As cheesy as it may sound, the most important factor I have found in being able to achieve this “success” is daily gratitude. I make a conscious effort to start and end every day by being grateful for all that I have and all that I am working on. Even if the project I am currently working on is not my dream project, by reminding myself every day that I am grateful for the work, for the people I am working with, and for the wealth and abundance that are flowing to and from me, I find that those types experience not only continue, but multiply.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My grandfather was an incredible entrepreneur and philanthropist. He instilled in me the importance of being of service to others in need. When I started my production company, Landwirth Legacy Productions, my mission was to fuse my love of filmmaking with my desire to help others. As such, my company has prioritized producing projects that are edgy and socially conscious and aim to enrich, educate, and empower audiences. We have produced public service announcements for local and national non-profit organizations and educational videos for cities and school districts throughout Los Angeles County and beyond. We do our best to produce narrative projects that address current societal issues and highlight communities of people that are not typically represented in film.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love food. So a week-long trip would most likely be centered around the best food spots Los Angeles has to offer (and there are a TON). Some of these must-have food spots are Sugarfish, Coffee Commissary (for their smoked salmon avocado toast), Tamashii Ramen, Cookie Good, Gracias Madre, and Grand Central Market. In between the foodie excursions, I would plan hikes, go site seeing, and plan for several day trips to awesome spots like La Jolla, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, Ojai, and Lake Arrowhead.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are too many people in my life who deserve a little credit and recognition for helping me get to where I am today and be the person I am today. That includes my husband, my family, my friends, all my teachers, and all my colleagues. I have learned so much from each of them and their support has helped guide me in my life and my career.
