We had the good fortune of connecting with Mfon Ekpe-dancy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mfon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My initial thought process was, “maybe I should sell this to everyone”. As I have evolved in business and entrepreneurship, I believe starting a business gives you control, time freedom, is an act of service and helps you have impact.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Ziggy’s Pudding® is a vegan, cruelty-free, natural, and clean skincare company, with a focus on children, and people with sensitive and irritated skin. Our approach is the use of predominately organic oil-based products to restore, protect and rejuvenate the skin. We source certified organic, organic, and sustainably wild-harvested raw materials to create our skincare products. Our range of nourishing, simple yet potent, skin-friendly, nontoxic products is the perfect solution for those suffering from eczema, babies with diaper rash, cradle cap, dry skin, dermatitis, and sensitive and irritated skin.
We are proud of the values we have as a company. We create skin care products that are skin protective, certified vegan and cruelty free. We are proud that our products are free from the over 1100 prohibited ingredients used in traditional skincare, based on EU standards.
Our company was inspired by my children who all suffered from eczema and sensitive skin. I created a solution when I couldn’t find a solution on the market that would work for their skin.
This journey has been filled with a lot of lessons learned. From learning marketing to customer acquisition and retention,
Overcoming challenges is a most in business. It’s great to have a team around you in order to help your business run smoothly and grow.
I always like to keep educating myself and getting better so I can serve my customers better.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Right now we are loving the SunCafe in studio city, they have amazing vegan and organic food and substitutions are allowed,
The Griffith Park observatory is always a sure bet to see amazing views of the city, and do a little hike.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
