We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Gomez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Making the pivot in January 2021 away from career coaching and spiritual life coaching, has been one of the most important decisions I’ve made in my business. I had experienced success as a career coach (i.e. full roster of clients, paid virtual speaking gigs, growing online community that followed my work), but it felt more like an obligation than a calling. Sometimes, you have to start a business with what you’re good at, in an effort to get things off the ground and revenue flowing. After two years of that, I was able to follow my path as a spiritual life coach and Latina Mother Wound healing conduit; facing the fear of ‘losing it all’ as I announced this pivot. Luckily, I had all the support from Divine Power, my family, clients and my online community to make this pivot and it feels great to stand in my truth and be able to help women heal through my offerings.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Michelle Gomez Coaching LLC is a coaching firm focused on helping womxn heal their inner-feminine and embody their true Warrior Womxn divinity. A key area of my practice is on the Latina Mother Wound, as many Latinx daughters carry this wound into their adult lives, with little cultural support to address it. What sets me apart, is that I provide a sacred space for Latina women to address this wound and re-emerge as conscious, connected, and empowered Mujeres. My practice incorporates life coaching methods, spiritual practices, and ancestral healing rituals to support the womxn in their healing journeys. I got to where I am today by staying consistent with my own growth and healing. I ensured to maintain a level of balance; working and serving, while also tending to my own spiritual and emotional needs. I also have to credit the business coaches, attorneys, and digital content experts I’ve worked with in helping me formalize and monetize my business. I’ve learned that personal growth is just as valuable to business growth than anything else. I’ve learned that authenticity and trust in your own path, is a guide to creating and building a business that you truly love. None of this was easy: the healing work and the business work – it was all tough on me at times; but I got through it a single thought, “I am called to this path. I can’t do it wrong. I will not win or lose. I will win or I will grow.” I want the world to know that if they purchase a digital product, take a course, attend a workshop/retreat, or work with my 1-on-1, know that I create a safe space for all of your emotions, experiences, traumas, emotions and deep-seated desires. I welcome them, because I have learned to embody my own. And I consistently show up daily to my own healing, so that I can be a conscious woman to myself, my family, my clients, and women everywhere.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
With COVID still in our midst, this is hard to answer. But pre-Covid? I would take my best friend to the following places in a week’s time: Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure – so we can eat all the yummy foods, take in the shows, get on the rides, and be surrounded with Disney magic. Hermosa Beach Pier – go eat and have some cocktails, do some light shopping, and lay out on the sand tanning and enjoying the ocean. Griffith Park Observatory – enjoy the drive up there, take in the LA sights and walk in the footsteps of Mia and Sebastian #LaLaLand, China Town, Downtown LA – go see the lovely decor and eat all the Chinese food we can handle. Big Bear Lake – get an overnight cabin in the area, do some outdoor activities, and enjoy the nature all around us.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Mark, has been such a tremendous support system during this business pivot. He has witnessed me integrate 11 years of all hat I’ve learned in my own mother wound healing journey, and fully accepts me in my quest to help other women. I also deeply thank the therapists, life coaches, and healers I’ve worked with over the years, in especially: Victor Pierantoni of Zen Stoic, Terrence Barnes (Spiritual mentor), Elisa Ortega of Stay Chula Wellness, Georgina Juarez of Mujer Magic Healing, Bethany Russell of Alchemy Gold Coaching, and Alexandra Michel of Casa Colibri. These individuals have each helped me in my personal spiritual awakening, accessing my divine feminine power, reconnecting with my ancestors, and unlocking my own spiritual gifts.
