We had the good fortune of connecting with Mo Skeezy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The idea for my business emerged from a blend of personal passion and creativity at an early age. However, I just couldn’t pin point what my favorite creative thing was exactly out of all of the things that caught my attention a one point. As I grew older I fell more into the fashion/music side (while still of course perfecting my other crafts.) and as I tried my hardest to figure out what I could build my brand around, I thought why not build around myself?

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart is my unwavering dedication to sustainability without compromising on quality or affordability and constantly innovating to bring you the best. You know, honestly to say I’ve been gone away from Louisiana and residing in Los Angeles for a little over 5 years now everyday I wake up that surreal feeling just never seems to go away! Over the course of the past year & some change I’ve really been focused on putting the ground work in doing as much networking as possible. One thing I can say though is the journey doesn’t get easy especially when you get hit with unexpected uppercuts from this thing we call life. In the midst of me connecting dots with people and learning new things, for some reason it just felt like I lost my creative spark. Although I knew this feeling wouldn’t last forever, I still battled with grounding myself & regaining focus on the bigger picture. However, I learned through it all you must take care of the quantity & allow the great creator to take care of the quality. When it comes to the world knowing about me and my brand, I want people to just think of a realm of no judgment that wants you to tap into your inner self. Remember to always stay true and ALWAYS keep your Highly Above Standard Heights as me and the guys would say!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When it comes to outings and planning I’m more so the “give me a time and place”friend, haha! However, if I did have control of the itinerary first place I’d say let’s go eating wise would probably be Din Tai Fung I don’t know what they do to their food exactly but maaaan oh man haha! Hanging out for aesthetics and for drinks I’d definitely recommend The Highlight Room in Hollywood with nice views over the city. As far as fun for me in this lovely city I tend to find myself at Runyon Canyon, cheering for the Dodgers, or reading a few pages from a book while relaxing on the beach.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Before I get into it I would like to say Rest In Peace to my father first and foremost. Now I would like to give an enormous shoutout to the man above! The Great Creator, God himself! Shortly behind that I would definitely say the support from my mom, random supporters and friends (including the ones I pray to that aren’t here.) Throughout whatever may be going on in my loved ones lives it seems as if no matter the day or time, I know it’s a select few people that’ll ALWAYS be there to answer. So for that I thank you all & biggest shoutout goes to you all for being on this journey with me!
