We had the good fortune of connecting with NEGIN ASKARI and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi NEGIN, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I didn’t pursue an artistic career to appear unique or different. I chose it because it was the most honest way I knew how to express myself.
From a young age, I connected more through images, movement, and emotion than through words. Creativity became a quiet but powerful language for me — a way of seeing, feeling, and being seen. Through modeling and other creative work, I learned how to communicate presence, energy, and identity, not just appearance.
Living across different countries taught me that change is constant. Creativity became my grounding point — the place where I could stay rooted while evolving. It gave me stability in motion.
For me, art is not about recognition or validation. It’s about meaning. It’s about transforming personal experiences — including difficult ones — into something that can be felt and shared. If what I create invites reflection, connection, or even a brief pause in someone’s day, that feels meaningful to me.
I continue on this path because it’s where I feel most aligned with myself — where my presence feels real, and my impact, though quiet, is lasting.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work is rooted in fashion, movement, and real human experience. I don’t see modeling as just posing or aesthetics—it’s a way of expressing presence, emotion, and identity through the body.
What sets me apart is adaptability. I’ve built my career across different countries, cultures, and creative environments, and that taught me how to stay grounded while constantly evolving. The journey wasn’t easy or linear. I’ve faced uncertainty, starting over, and moments of self-doubt, but each phase helped me grow stronger and more self-aware.
Along the way, I learned to trust myself—my instincts, my body, and my timing. I learned that growth doesn’t come from forcing things, but from consistency, awareness, and patience.
What I want people to know about me and my work is that it comes from a real place. I value authenticity, intention, and depth. My story isn’t about perfection—it’s about movement, resilience, and becoming more aligned with who I truly am.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d want them to experience Los Angeles the way I do—a mix of nature, creativity, good food, and space to breathe.
We’d start mornings slow: coffee and a walk somewhere calm like Runyon Canyon or along the coast in Malibu, letting the city wake up gently. Breakfast would be simple and intentional—places like Gjusta or a quiet café in Silver Lake.
During the day, I’d show them the creative side of LA—wandering through The Getty, small galleries, or vintage shops where you feel the character of the city more than the hype. Afternoons are for driving with music on, no rush, just letting LA unfold.
Evenings would be about good energy: dinner in West Hollywood or Venice, then sunset at Griffith Observatory—that moment always puts things into perspective.
What I love most about this city is that you can move between stillness and intensity so easily. LA gives you space to reflect, create, reset, and then step back into the world with clarity. That balance is what makes it special to me.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to the people who shaped not only my career, but the way I see life.
First, my family — for their unconditional support, strength, and belief in me, even when the path was uncertain. Their grounding presence has always been my anchor.
I also want to acknowledge the creatives, mentors, and collaborators I’ve worked with over the years — photographers, designers, bookers, and artists who trusted me, challenged me, and pushed me to grow beyond my comfort zone. Every project taught me something new about discipline, resilience, and self-expression.
And finally, a quiet shoutout to the journey itself — the setbacks, the risks, the reinventions. They’ve been my greatest teachers and the reason I stand where I am today.
