We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Muyingo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
After over ten years in the marketing and events industry, Nicole Muyingo, founder of MUY HOUSE, recognized how hard it was for small businesses and individuals to get the marketing and brand exposure that they need without breaking the bank.
With most digital marketing agency fees ranging from $10k – $15k retainers on the lower end (which in most cases doesn’t even include media and ad spend, another $10K+), it makes it almost impossible for self-funded small businesses and start-ups to succeed. Even after incurring these costs, it doesn’t guarantee a click-through that leads to actual sales, and it doesn’t guarantee that the “right” people will see your brand.
At MUY HOUSE, we are changing that by launching a membership-based community for brands and individuals to create impactful content and marketing campaigns that are hyper-targeted to the “right” demographic of MUY HOUSE members that already exist and that are waiting to hear about you.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
MUY HOUSE is a private membership-based brand & content development community. We support brands, small businesses, and Individuals that flourish in the health & wellness, culinary, and sustainability sectors.
We recognize how hard it is for small businesses to get the marketing exposure that they need without breaking the bank. At MUY HOUSE our goal is to bridge the gap between pricey agencies and individual professionals that offer great services and affordable pricing. Our mission is to connect our verified network of members with the right places and the right brands to create unique and memorable experiences that not only increase brand exposure and brand growth but also increase brand loyalty.
We aim to connect communities with places and brands that they want to hear from, and also we make sure to have a good time whilst doing so!
We’re a collective of hard-working and fun-loving, innovators, tastemakers, entrepreneurs, and community builders. Our members are constantly on the hunt for new and unique experiences and other fellow adventure seekers to co-create, learn and grow with.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
OOO Great question!
If I have a friend visiting from out of town I would definitely start with sushi and a cocktail! I love Irori in Marina del Ray in addition to Kazu Nori, Wabi Sabi in Venice is also a go-to fave!
Other must-do’s on the list is: Hiking in malibu or the Pacific Palisades, Lunch at the Reel Inn on PCH – great for fresh local seas food. We would definitely check out Abbot Kinney and go for a walk on the Venice Boardwalk.
Not to miss is a great Spa day! Either Organic to Green in Venice, or a full spa day at Wii Spa in DTLA (not for the faint-hearted).
It wouldn’t be LA without a yoga class, I love Byan Kest yoga studios in Santa Monica in addition to Hot 8 Yoga. Followed by a wonderful sound bath at Hallowed Ground in Venice. Oh and a visit to the Getty Villa is a MUST! Grab a glass of Rose and check out some art and beautiful rose gardens!
The best spot for a burger is Hinanos In Venice or The Window. I’m a big fan of Korean BBQ, in Korea Town. The options are endless, LA has so much to offer!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My incredible friends and family who support me daily.
